First of all, sorry for taking longer the usual getting this report up.  Normally I try to post them next day, but I couldn't do that this time.  This past Blue Bell was not the best showing.  Only 27 players were able to come and play vintage, but let me tell you, I think if you ask anyone who went it was still a lot of fun, and isn't an event to be missed!  I talked to everyone beforehand, and asked if a change in the prize structure was OK.  While taking $650 in entry fees I ended up giving out the following as prizes:

1st: $350 in credit (or UL Mox Sapphire)
2nd: $150 in credit
3rd/4th: $50 in credit
5th-8th: $25 in credit
9th: Wolf Shirt (yea MIKE NOBLE!)

The highest player with no proxies got $25 in credit.  Both players in the finals had no proxies, and ended up playing for this after splitting 1st/2nd place.

Here was the Metagame Breakdown:  There was 1 decklist harmed in the making of this breakdown, no idea where it went.

NICK COSS

Shall hereby be renamed FONZIE COSS.

Because that's how badass he is.  Great tournament Nick.  The prize support adjustment wasn't a big deal to anyone (that I saw anyway).  Still a great prize structure, I don't think anyone is going to bitch at you for still putting up

1st: $350 in credit (or UL Mox Sapphire)
2nd: $150 in credit
3rd/4th: $50 in credit
5th-8th: $25 in credit
9th: Wolf Shirt

...with only 27 attendants.

27 x 25 = 675.  350 + 150 + 100 (3rd/4th) + 100 (5th-8th) + 25 proxy prize + Wolf Shirt = 725 + Wolf Shirt.

Tournament was awesome as always.  I actually tipped the guy behind the counter for being awesome with my purchases.

BTW, thanks for letting us play in the back.  It's so nice back there with a breeze coming through.  It's kind of like you're playing outdoors.

HARRISBURG VINTAGE THIS WEEKEND AND NEXT WEEK PHILLY OPEN.

NICK FONZIE COSS FTW

GTFReady, Pennsylvania Vintage at its best.

RE: Matt Elias

3 Planeswalkers in one Vintage deck?!?  I never thought I'd see the day.  To me, that is the sign of excellent craftmanship by WotC Design and Development.  Nice work, Matt.

in what match up did you feel it necessary to bring in the lodestone golems?  did you side out the chalices?  also did you find running a bot heavy list that thorns were not needed?  you were running 12 creatures including the board and it seems like thorn would have been better than sphere in this case.  also why no inclusion of karn or a mox monkey?

I honestly never thought Planeswalkers would end up in Vintage decks.  When I saw the first five, I just brushed them off as a nice gimick but far too slow and balanced for Vintage.  But they are obviously a legit card type now, and I think it's great.  I gotta give propps to all the deck designers who have found ways to incorperate them.
