This is obviously a card printed for edh.
But does anyone think it could be a viable oath target. Milling and getting regrowth or will is obviously strong. Not to mention just getting timewalk, recall, timevault+key, and silver bullet cards.
Seems just better than any of the sun Titan builds anyone as tried. And if you really want, you can start to treat oath like a cheaper slower tezzeret.

Rune-Scarred Demon 5BB
Creature - Demon (R)

When Rune-Scarred Demon enters the battlefield, search your library for a card, put it into your hand, then shuffle your library.

It's a pretty terrible oath target.

1. After an activation, there's no guarantee that anything worthwhile will be left in your library.

2. It's probably worthless if it's oathed up on second activation.

I don't think you read my post. Your first point is nullified by the mentioned regrowth and y-will.

Your second point is invalid as long as you're running cards worth playing.

I guess you could have litterally oathed over all your controll, answers, and recursion but that's not statistically a valid concern.

Oath - RSD trigger on the stack, Gaea's Blessing trigger to get my graveyard back - Tutor for Time Walk.  Seems good.
Three mana cheaper.

Vintage is a lovely format, it's too bad so few people can play because the supply of power is so small.

Chess really changed when they decided to stop making Queens and Bishops.  I'm just glad I got my copies before the prices went crazy.

I guess the question is: is there any thing you'd tutor up with this guy following Oath that allows you to win faster than Golden Gun (BSC and Dragon's Breath) or more reliably than Terrastadon or Tyrant?

After you Time Walk, you've your swining for 6. Unless you do what the previous poster said and Golden Gun them. But in that case your just speed bumping along Golden Gun with 2 slots (Demon, Blessing) to have a increased chance to find those two. Demon just seems bad unless Oath has Y.Win setup or nastyness. I could see it as the only oath creature and vault-key combo? Not having to follow up with anything and mill yourself, use reclaim into Y.Win.. He really wants Y.Win and a graveyard full of deck.

This deck doesn't require the 4-5 dead cards that deck does.
Personly I consider dragons breathe oath variants to be the weakest...ever. But that's a topic for a differed thread.
Speed doesn't necisary make this better, but it does have the potential to be as fast. Something in the realm of:
Oath, tutor timewalk, cast it, oath again, tutor up y will time vault key. There are a lot of variants on this play depending, and k.
Rec. adds cosistency to these..
Even if the deck isn't faster I garuntee it will shit all over it's self less. Than anything running dragons breathe.

I already said it in the rumor-box:

3x runescared demon
1x gaea's blessing
1x timewalk

This will get you enough turns to Win the game without ever passing the opponent another turn.

Tutoring for Noxious Revival could be interesting (free) when YWill/Walk ends up in the grave. You can do it in upkeep.

I can't believe I'm going to argue against DT-ing... but, what about when you flip Time Walk but not Blessing?  What about when they Stifle the Blessing, or Crypt/Nihil/Ravenous you in response to the trigger?  Getting a non-haste 6/6 Flyer whose impact on the game is negated by 0CMC activations and spells is dangerously close to Time Walking yourself, compared to getting Iona/Elephants/Tyrant, etc.

3 Demons, Regrowth, maybe a Noxious revival or two can probably make it work without needing Blessing. Blessing kinda sucks.

So what if you don’t have access to time walk? You have an entire deck of vintage playable cards to choose from. I think the whole notion of “I can’t get time walk 100% of the time so this demon tutor effect is trash” is laughable. You're still sitting on regrowth, recall, y-will. Shit, the turn after you resolve oath tutoring up a mana drain is still pretty good.

And if you’re really stuck on the time walk plays, play a regrow and k.rec. I wouldn’t bother with blessing.
