Well, two people cancelled on me, so only two in our car now.  If anyone in CT is interested in going, contact me.  We're leaving from Waterbury at 7:30am.

856-858-2700

Also, here's directions from PA. (Over the Ben Franklin Bridge)

Take route 30 east (to the left off the bridge).  Follow signs for Route 70.

Take the first exit for Cuthbert Boulevard, and turn left on Haddon Avenue.

The store is 2 blocks down on the left, the same building as the Subway Sandwich shop.  Below is a picture of where you should park.

So, who won?

I am wondering myself. I was pulling for Butker.

So Stax beats Gro.  Very nice.

I don't think I've ever seen a metagame with this many creature-centric decks in it. What a crazy day.

So I guess I'd like to say congratulations to the rest of the community.  Over the course of the last few months it seems like most of you guys have stepped up your game, considerably.  The 1-3 bracket at this tournament featured Elias, Pikula, Egan and I, for starters.  I could have picked out names from that bracket, told people it was the top eight, and I think I could have convinced most people.

Congrats to the winner and that's awesome if it was Butker. I went 4-1-1 and all of my wins were 2-0 only losing to Butker. I was pretty disappointed not making the top 8, but this was a great event and a great store to play at. Big thanks to Coss and staff on holding a sick event!

Hey, I was never in the 1-3 bracket!  I started 2-1 before dropping a couple weird matches.  On the day... I lost a mirror to Glackin (close game 1, blew him out game 2, he blew me out game 3), lost to Noble Fish 0-2 (considerable bad variance game 1, wrong coin-flip decision game 2), and lost to Suicide (saw 0 Remoras game 1 or 2, then mulled to 5 on the draw game 3 and lost two cards to Probe->Therapy on turn 1).  I beat Noble Fish, another Suicide (where I drew Remoras), and Oath of Druids.

Oh, I should mention: Nick's store is really sweet!  The location is good, very easy to get to from anywhere around Philly or NJ, lots of places to eat nearby (hopefully for one of these I can ship my kid somewhere for the night and we can hit up one of those local bars after), and there's a lot of room in the store for gaming.  Well done, Mr. Coss!

This was an outstanding event at an outstanding shop! And, in spite of my poor performance in the back half of the tourney, I had a blast!

Cost to enter the tournament: $30
Cost for an Underground Sea to de-proxy my deck a little further: $85
Listening to Nick Detwiler tell Jake Gans stories: Priceless

We haven't even gotten to the James Hangley stories yet...

I had a really good time here, too.  The new shop is pretty awesome, can't wait to play there again.
