Got absolutely smoked by GI 2-0 playing my bant deck. I made play mistakes, but it wouldn't have mattered anyway as I would have needed much better draws to deal with what he threw down. Have yet to win a game with that pile!

Game 1 was a lock-out where he turn 1 Merchant Scrolled for Hurkyl's and never once had an opportunity to play it.
Game 2 we went back and forth, but I stuck an early Smokestack.  It was on 2 for quite a while and steadily ate his board while Karn kept it on the attack.

I really hate playing this deck because it's all luck.  The only "real" skill is knowing how many counters to keep on Smokestack and what to copy with Metamorph.

Do the other matches need to bother or is the winner of your match the overall winner?

Either Guli or I will be the winner.  We both have 6 points and the win would push us to 9.  Everybody else has 3 or 0 points.

The other pairings are optional, just like in a real tourney when you can't make top8.

Oh well. In that case, do you still want to play GI? I'm sure by now you're tired of stomping my face in with Drain Tendrils.

I beat GI 2-0.

Game one: I literally drew runner, runner, runner, runner to win. I lose the roll and draw B Lotus for the turn. I draw Jace next turn and Jacestorm into Time Walk and Tinker.

Game two: We play draw go for so many turns I lost count. He draws ZERO gas, and I can't find a second land. I eventually draw out of it, finding a 2nd and 3rd land to cast 2x Flusterstorm and 2x FoW to protect a huge Yawg Will.

Game two

He drew 1 land over 20 cards, I drew 1 preordain.  It was wild...or the opposite of that Wink  GGs
