Hey everyone, I've been saying that I will probably co-run an an event for a while somewhere in Massachusetts, and that time has finally arrived!

Here are the details:

Name:      Grand Prix: Samite - Version 1

Format:    Vintage - 10 Proxy

Time:  Tournament starts at Noon, store opens at 10:00, registration starts at 10:30 or 10:45

Location:  Batter-Up Cards & Comics
               1875 Main Street
               Tewksbury, MA 01876

Entrance Fee: $15

Prize Structure:  GUARANTEED!!!

1st Place:    Unlimited Mox or Time Walk (TBD)
2nd Place:   Choice of Unlimited Timetwister OR Library of Alexandria
3rd Place:   Choice of English Mana Drain OR Beta Mind Twist OR Beta Wheel of Fortune OR FBB Underground Sea OR Ravnica box
4th Place:   Choice of Italian Mana Drain OR Beta Sol Ring OR Beta Fastbond OR FBB Volcanic Island
5th Place:   Choice of Foil Darksteel Colossus OR Foil Tinker OR Foil Platinum Angel OR FBB Demonic Tutor AND 3 Ravnica Packs
6th Place:   Choice of remaining three 5-8 prizes AND 3 Ravnica Packs
7th Place:   Choice of remaining two 5-8 prizes AND 3 Ravnica Packs
8th Place:   Remaining 5-8 prize AND 3 Ravnica Packs

Dopeness  Factor:  Ray Robillard Squared....ok, not really.  More like Kowal Squared divided by Team Reflection = .001

**CLARIFICATION**

This is NOT an andystok event, nor is he affiliated with it in any way.  I post this because I have been asked by several people already.  I will be on-site with my friend Ben, owner of the New England Magic Group --> www.NewEnglandMagicGroup.com which I believe strives to conglomerate ALL NE events for ALL formats into one giant site.

There will be a dealer on site -->ME  Wink<-- along with Ben (who many may recognize from Boston prereleases)to take care of any transactions you might need (no, not drug related ::smack:Smile.

Oh, and the buy prices posted on New England Magic Group's website DO NOT reflect prices that will be paid at tables.  (I will likely pay the type 1 community more)

Recently there has been a decline in New England Power Tournaments, and our goal is to try to provide additional events when we can.  This is our HOBBY, not our LIVING, which means that we will try to run it as smooth as possible and as fun as possible.  There can be side events, drafts, maybe poker, mana drain side tournaments, basically whatever kind of event anyone wants to play in as long as people want it.

I hope to see lots of people I know there, and to have a great time as well.  Feel free to post any comments, questions, concerns, or suggestions down below if it will help make this experience better.  I will create a new thread eventually, assuming the vote is at least moderately favorable and when the venue is completely secured.

That being said, Team Reflection is going to destroy all of you, so who is going to try to stop us?

With Jeff at the helm I can say this will be nothing less than a class act.

I will do what I can to be there.  Looking forward to it.

I'll __TRY__ to make it, but that all depends on whether or not kerri will allow me.

I have mixed emotions about the guy who typically sells cards at the store. On the one hand, the store looks pretty damned nice. On the other hand, the guy that's selling cards was charging $1400 for a lotus. That's just insane. I'm very very VERY glad that Jeff will be dealing.

I really dig the prize structure for a good ol' $15 event.  Very nice, Mr. Samite - I really hope there's a good turnout.

Kerz, you sell out?  Not in the "being a lamer" sense but in the "exchanging Magical cards for dollars" way?

Anyhow, hope to see ya there.

I just don't want this tournament to be forgotten about, since it's in a scant three weeks.

I'm still pretty psyched to go - Waterbury was all-too-good at refreshing my desire to play Magicicicic.

New news - Taaaaaahd may be comin' up with Ray and I.  Our car should have at least three people in it (Ray, myself, and others).

In other old new news - the Mykeatog rising would be hot.  Not in that "I wanna spank way" but in the "I wanna spa --"

...

Forget I said anything.

Newer news-- Jeff, Jacob Orlove, and myself checked out the venue this past Saturday.  The establishment itself is top-shelf, with adequate room and parking, clean floors, and couches.  It takes about a half hour to get to from the Boston area.  Don't let the apparent lack of civilization in the immediately surrounding area dissuade you; this is one event you won't want to miss.

The event starts at 12:00 Noon.  The store will be open at 10:00, and registration will likely start at 10:30 or 10:45.  I am so glad so many people are coming!

Not only is this prize structure guaranteed for $15, but if as many people show up as I think will, I may have to INCREASE the structure....
