I really don't understand why so many people have problems understanding how uba mask works.  Its not very difficult in my opinion.  Lets break it down.

Part 1 : If you would draw...ok...I know that word.
Part 2 : That player.  HEY they're talking about ME!!.  Damn, WOTC must be psychic or something.
Part 3 : Removes that card from the game faceup.  Ok.  Out of the game.  Facing up so people can see.  Easy.

Part 4: Each Player...so that means anybody
Part 5: may play cards he or she removed...ok, so I can play my cards that I removed if I fall into a gender class
Part 6: with uba mask last turn.  Ok, so I can't play last weekends lotus I uba'd.  Understood

Yet despite these easy steps, people still have so much trouble from it.  I've had people think they draw cards AFTER they uba the drawn card for the turn, I've had people recall and say it only affects the first card drawn, people say they don't put 2 cards back with brainstorm because they never drew the cards.

I just don't get it.  Why is it so confusing to understand?

Really? wow.  The only problem we have around here is forgetting to reveal the card and putting it in our hands.  Yes I've done it. Sometimes you just forget its on the board.

How much of this is from MWS testing, and how much is actual confusion in real events?

Based on this weekend, apparently a lot.  I heard there were a lot of game losses given out for it.  That seems like a harsh punishment.  In my T8 match with Vroman, V accidently missed the mask, and a spectator pointed it out, and we just corrected the sitatuation with no penalties or hard feelings.

Seriously, cheerio for you on that one, JDizzle.  If your opponent is clearly not cheating, there should be no penalties given out for stuff like that.  Bravo for not calling a judge over and trying to get Vroman kicked out just so you can get a match win - there are things far more important.

Do we have an award for nicest player on the 2nd annual TMD awards?

If not, we should.

Thanks, JDizzle.

I definitely apreciate jd not making an issue of it, but to be fair, I didnt mix up my hand and immediately put the land I drew into play, and revealed the other cards in my hand.

sheesh...if you think people have a bad problem with Uba Mask, you should try playing Possessed Portal on a regular basis...
