TMD's very own Christopher Coppola was the first (and I believe) only player to T8 both events, packing Vial Goblins.  Day one he placed in the T8 and day 2 he lost in the mirror match in the finals.

In fact, his only two losses over the two days, were once to Reset Tide (Solidarity) and once to the mirror.
