@yespuhyren: I'm pretty sure he is mad because his opponent could not make Top8, even with a win, while he could make Top8 on breakers if he won..I can understand his annoyance but at the same time I don't necessarily agree with it. Sure, at a PTQ, I don't care if it's cheating, half the room is already trying to cheat one way or another to win and i'll give my last round opponent packs or whatever to scoop. But at a casual event like this, I personally wouldn't do it.
I thought this argument was over due to mods?
When there is over $500 in prize I don't call that a casual event. The only format I currently play is T1 and again when there are two pieces of power at stake I come to win. I didn't travel over two hours to scrub. Obviously I understand that it wasn't my day and if I had played better in the earlier 4 rounds I would not have been in that situation and had made T8 without any kind of split required. The point was I was in that situation. I personally feel and practice that when you have no shot going into the final round it is common courtesy to lay it down for your opponent. Its not like there were rating points at stake there was no reason to not lay down his cards except to take away my shot at making the trip worth while. Honestly, this move was low and selfish and I nor my team will ever help Erik or his team in another event again.
Im not trying to start an argument or continue another one I’m just trying to express my point of view when it comes to the situation and explain why I feel I was "screwed" out of a T8 spot.
@Colby: Even though I wanted you to win the Legacy match I still thought you were being a jerk by playing two matches at once. Its disrespectful to both players and as much as I think your a great guy I'm kinda happy that they both beat you. I mean seriously if my opponent decided it only took half the amount of energy and thought to beat me I would be kind of upset. On the other hand it takes some huge balls to play 2 matches at once when one of them is for power.
