That's right, I am sharing this with all of you once again. You can view all of the best Planar Chaos cards, all in one place. It's a little shorter, though, since the set is only roughly half the size of Time Spiral.

Rebuff the Wicked
W
Instant
Counter target spell that targets a permanent you control.

Tired of having your Meddling Mage naming Empty the Warrens get hit by the all-powerful Red Elemental Blast? Or, even worse, have your backup Force of Will nailed by Red Blast as well when you try to protect your Meddling Mage? This is the solution. Not only does it protect your Meddling Mage, the spell itself is white and cannot be targeted by those annoying Red Blasts (especially since the Moonlace tech from Time Spiral has yet to catch on). Just be careful, as this trick will work only once; afterwards, it will be removed from the game by Extirpate, preventing you from using it in the future.

Serra's Boon
2W
Enchantment - Aura
Enchant Creature
Enchanted creature gets +1/+2 as long as it's white. Otherwise it gets -2/-1.

In a blue-white fish deck, this has two-thirds of the effects that Umezawa's Jitte has, and who needs life gain anyway? This has numerous uses - it can speed up your clock, kill those ever-annoying Goblin Welders, Xantid Swarms, Dark Confidants, and Goblin tokens, and even protect your Meddling Mage naming Empty the Warrens from annoying spells like Pyroclasm, Lava Dart, and Fire/Ice.

Oh, again, be sure not to let hit hit the yard, because you don't want such a flexible utility card to be nailed by Extirpate.

Erratic Mutation
2U
Instant
Choose target creature.
Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a nonland card. Target creature gets +X/-X until end of turn where X is the converted mana cost of the revealed card. Put all cards revealed this way on the bottom of your library in any order.

This card justifies running both Empty the Warrens and Tinker/Colossus in Gifts or Control/Dry Slaver. The primary reason to cut Tinker/Colossus has always been due to the fact that drawing Colossus itself sucks. Now, however, you can just Brainstorm the Colossus onto the top of your library (provided that Brainstorm has not yet been removed by Extirpate), and then cast this on one of your Empty the Warrens tokens, Goblin Welder, Triskelion, etc. It's a little narrow, though, so I wouldn't run more than one. That's actually a benefit, though, since now you don't need to fear having it taken away by Duress before you're ready to use it, and then have your extra copy nailed by Extirpate.

Shaper Parasite
1UU
Creature - Illusion
Morph 2U
When Shaper Parasite is turned face up, target creature gets +2/-2 or -2/+2 until end of turn.

Like Serra's Boon, this is a very flexible fish card - it can be used to get rid of enemy guys or save your Meddling Mage naming Empty the Warrens from damage-based removal. This is important - not only does that Mage you save protect you from Empty the Warrens, but it is also safely in play and thus out of the reach of Extirpate.

Big Game Hunter
2B
Creature - Human Rogue

When Big Game Hunter comes into play, destroy target creature with power 4 or greater.
Madness: B (If you discard this card, you may play it for its madness cost instead of putting it into your graveyard.)

Stop laughing, I'm not actually suggesting that this is a playable card. However, in StarCraft, the map "Big Game Hunters" was extremely popular among bad players. Since this has pretty much the same name, I expect it to likewise be very popular among bad players, so I'd collect them while they're cheap and sell them off at highly inflated prices. And, well, I guess it DOES destroy Sundering Titan, Juggernaut, and a couple other creatures that see Vintage play. In addition: as you know, once you destroy the first copy, you've effectively destroyed them all due to the unstoppable power of Extirpate.

Extirpate
B
Instant
Split Second
Choose target card, other than a basic land card, in a graveyard. Search its owner's graveyard, hand and library for all cards with the same name and remove them from the game.

Vintage as we know it is officially ruined. Damnit, I thought R&D was done printing stupidly broken cards that let you win the game on turn one. Run four of this card in every deck, if for no reason other than to cast it on the opponent's Extirpates to make sure you don't get PWNT by it more than once, and thus might have a chance to still win the game.

Rough // Tumble
1R // 5R
Sorcery
Rough deals 2 damage to each creature without flying.
//
Tumble deals 6 damage to each creature with flying.

If your aggro-control deck has red in it, this is THE solution to all of your deck's problems. Rough lets you wipe out those annoying Empty the Warrens tokens, and Tumble kills those otherwise tough-to-deal-with Simic Sky Swallowers (best when combined with Extirpate to make sure the Simic Sky Swallower doesn't just come back).

P.S. If you "get" it, please don't post or play along; I want to see how many people fall for it this time

I don't really find this funny.  But maybe that's just my sense of humor.

It really wasn't meant to be funny, as much as to take a shot at all of the Extirpate overhyping. I am well aware that coming up with something genuinely funny is well beyond my abilities.

Now that you mention it, Roxas, Tumble of Rough/Tumble really is the ultimate solution to Simic Sky Swallower.

Thanks!

Right, because its hilarious when an adept makes a thread to make fun of people who are either a) new to the format, or b) try out non-traditional ideas. The irony is Extirpate may actually be a decent card. Any cheap spell with spilt second deserves a look.

There's a difference between "trying out non-traditional ideas" and making statements like:

this card eviscerates the entire type 1 metagame.  I can't think of an archetype that isn't destroyed by this card and you can't even respond to it.  that's insane.  WTB designers who don't ruin the game.

Maybe even blue will be bumped off its perch as undisputed king of T1.

I for one am quite happy about the new "format-destroyer" I'll be happy when this format turns into a battle of attrition.

It's almost certainly a good card, yes, but some of the things people are saying are just ridiculous.

I would like to applaud Jared for standing up and saying what he said.  Without putting to much into what he said, I do think it reflects some moral principle.

The thoughtful among us know that the statements you just cited are patently absurd.  Just to read them makes that clearly evident.   Repeating it for the purpose of making fun of them or denigrating them isn't really funny so much as just mean.   These people aren't hurting anyone with thier extreme hyperbole and overbroad generalizations.   They just make themselves look silly.

I think there is a general lack of civility at times that is perhaps a consequence of the fierce competitiveness that our format and our tournaemnts engender.   I'm often the biggest offender, but perhaps we could all try to be a little more congenial on these boards.  We are, after all, a community.  My several month banning made me appreciate that and that is why I wanted to come back.
