Guru Islands are at least twice as good as Summer Magic Islands.

Yeah, Guru lands are definitely amazing. The Guru Islands are even more expensive than Summer now. The only way I'd use Summer Islands is if I had a lot of other Summer cards as well to match. Perhaps that is the next step! Very Happy

Guru Islands are at least twice as good as Summer Magic Islands.

However, not as expensive.  Summer Basic Islands appear to be ebaying anywhere from $60-80, whereas Gurus are going from roughly $50-65.  Not to mention Summer Islands are much more difficult to find than their Guru counterparts.  Lots of people don't like the Summer Islands because they are white boardered, et cetera.  But, IMO Summer Magic is by far and away the coolest stuff you can get, because it is a real challenge to find it.  The stuff is simply uber rare.

A few weeks ago on eBay, 2 Guru Islands went for almost $100 each. The price is back down to around $50-60, but Summer Islands seem to always sell for less than $40. There are some BIN prices on eBay for over 50, but they don't really sell. I got 2-3 Summer Islands a few months ago for around $35, so they aren't too hard to get.

In my experience, Guru Islands are just as rare as Summer Islands. There are 11 Summer Islands on eBay BIN right now, but only 1 Guru Island for auction. There is less demand for Summer Island- so while it may technically be a bit rarer print run wise, there certainly is a decent amount of supply out there. Most of them stay unsold, while Guru Islands go pretty fast.

I think at worst they are fairly equal, but I do prefer Guru for the art and black border.

    Guru! Very Happy

Oh, if all we care about is price, then 5th edition wb islands with a $100 bill stapled to them are clearly the "most pimp".

But they wouldn't be playable at a major tournament.  Smile

I disagree with you guys here.  From my experience Summer Islands are the most expensive ones on the market right now.

Hey Jaco, I'm relatively new to TMD. I was just wondering a few things. I saw your decklist for pitch long, and a few things struck me as odd. I was wondering how you are able to run wheel other than with lotus/ruby/petal. You don't have any badlands. Also, do you feel that 18 blue cards is too little in the deck? I tried your build on mws but I often found that I was left with a force or misd without any other blue cards. Any opinion of yours would be greatly appreciated. Also, very pimp deck- I'm impressed.

Thread necromancy is bad.  Off-topic thread necromancy is worse.  Also bad are duplicate accounts and punishment evasion.  Thread locked, full warning issued.  This is not your first, and it is under review.
