T1 Event - Philly Area - 6/28/08 - USE THE NEW B & R LIST FOR EVENT?

This is your chance to voice your opinion on what we will do at the Blue Bell Event on June 28th. Should we use the new B & R list which will become effective June 20th or will we use the current list? We want to know and will make our decision based on your votes. Please note that the new list WILL be used for our next event which will be in August. Thanks for voting.

Type 1 format with 15 proxies. 1st place wins a MOX RUBY & 2nd place wins a signed MOX EMERALD. 3rd & 4th Place win $25 table credit. If we get 40+ players, 5th-8th win a Shadowmoor draft set. Players who preregister will be placed into a drawing for a FREE ENTRY into our next event!. Deck registration from 9am-10am, round 1 begins at 10am.

EVENT WILL BE HELD AT ALTERNATE UNIVERSES IN THE DEKALB PLAZA ON RT. 202, BLUE BELL, PA.

Entry fee: $25.00

Format: Type 1 with 15 proxies, 5-6  rounds with cut to top 8.

Location: Alternate Universes on Route 202  in Blue Bell, Pa (Visit our web site for directions)

When: Saturday, June 28th, 2008

Sign-in & deck registration begins promptly at 9am. Round 1 starts at 10am.

Save time at registration by bringing your preprinted deck list. **Please indicate proxied cards.**

Prize structure:

1st place: UNLIMITED MOX RUBY

2nd place: UNLIMITED MOX EMERALD

3rd place: $25 table credit

4th place: $25 table credit

40+ players: 5th place - 8th place: Shadowmoor Draft Set

Prizes are guaranteed.

We will also be running a side event at the conclusion of the main events Swiss rounds. 1st place will win an English Mana Drain. Entry fee will be $10 if you played in the main event or $15 otherwise.

We will also once again be having 2 random drawings for $25 Wawa gift cards! The drawings will be held near the end of the T1 side event, and you must be present to receive the cards. Congrats to Nick Coss & Craig Berry who were last month's winners!!

Why in the world wouldn't we?  People have a full month to make new decks.  Just because it isn't a popular set of restrictions doesn't mean we shouldn't use it.

The entire point of hitting these small events in the summer, for me anyway, is to prepare for Vintage Worlds.  I want as much tournament experience with the new changes as possible!

Seems like a sneaky way to attract attention and get people to post ... I like it.  But yeah seems pretty obvious we should go ahead and use the new list.  Using the old one we be pretty awkward, I know it isn't sanctioned but not adhering to current B/R lists seems bad for any format.
