Aritz,
Kellan and I are going from Brooklyn, if we get you and maybe one more person, renting a zipcar, we can split the cost ($100), will  just be a little more expensive than the train and infinitely less hassle

As always, if anybody needs a ride from the train to the location, I'm open to taking a few people.

The LIRR is doing work on the Valley Stream through Long Beach lines on the weekends, so I can pick anybody that needs a ride up from the Rockville Centre train station.  Just let me know via PM.

Hi Joshua,
This sound good for me, I don't mine paying a little more If we go faster and less complicatted, but Nicks option of picikng up us will be good too if we were few people, I don't know if Yare is coming from Manhattan, and if it if see will like to come with us, so we will be 4 for spliting the car cost. The only matter with me is that maybe till thursday or friday (less likely) I wouldn't know if I can make it, since depends on my work. I will try to go this thursday to the Brooklyngamers draft and we can speak there (if I go I will take my vintage deck too Smile), if I don't go I will call you, or message with what happens to my life Smile.

As of now it looks like I'll be making the trip along with Matt Elias, Brian Carey, Ralph Parsinitz, Mike Noble, and Ryan Glackin.  Thank god for 2005 Honda Odysseys and captain chairs (we are not small folk).

I will be making this trip from the Philly area too.

I have a car that comfortably seats three others in addition to myself.  If you're looking for a ride, or if you've already got a few people going but have room for another, then let me know!

Brad, you might want to talk to Jon Richards about this.  I don't know his TMD handle, but he's looking for a ride (and I believe he's from the Philly area.)  He's asking on the tournament page, here:

Thank god it's not that knackered old Chrysler/Dodge any longer...**

It appears I shall be able to get to this, and lay claim to my Mudholes.  And even better, I shall be bringing a vintage tournament (sacrificial?) virgin or two.  Naturally, I shall be a few minutes late.  Nick, I'll also be happy to discuss my forthcoming GP/PT travel plans so we can further the cause of Alpha Power.

**Even if it made a better job of getting us to Charleston after my car bailed.

1:00 AM; the phone rings, Nick is woken from a sound sleep.

Nick: Hello?

Simon: 'Allo Govna!  My car broke down, want to drive to Charleston for some fish and chips?

Nick: I guess.

Road trip to Charleston begain at 1:30 in the morning.

It was; you wouldn't think that Wal-Mart would be the greatest place to go ever, but alcohol does interesting things.  The BBQ was amazing as well.  And the Plymouth Voyager hitting 100 mph on I-95 was well beyond what I thought it could do.  Go Simon...

I want in the next time something like that happens.  I'm bringing Jimmy with me.

Also, I was offered a 9th place prize that crushes four foil Mudhole's.  It's pretty amazing, and it only costs 273 mana to resolve them!

Needs more Dick Burns and/or John Murphy. Or would we have to pull in to truck scales at that point?

Well, we're 2 hours away from registration, 3 hours away from round 1. It's going to be another great day of Vintage on Long Island.  Can't wait to see everyone out at Grim...

Any updates from anyone who went on how everything ended up.  If anybody could let me know I'd appreciate it especially since I couldn't make it and have been home all day because of my wisdom teeth getting taken out yesterday.

What Jimmy is trying to say is that Jake Gans won the Lotus with mana dredge against Jim Davis running Tezz. 44 people total for the event and then 16 of us went to T.G.I. Fridays for an epic dinner.

1st dredge 2nd tezz 3rd dredge 4th Noble fish (me)

Rest of top 8: mono red stax, the deck, elves, oath

Elves scooped to tezz, dredge beat stax and the deck, fish beat oath

Dredge beat dredge, tezz beat fish

Dredge beat tezz.

Thanks Nick for another great event! The field was quite diverse and I look forward to the to report!

So yea, you all should have seen the hostess's face when I say "So, party of 17?".  She says "Are you serious?".  Needless to say, hilarity ensued.  James Hangley instructed all of us on how to drink a "Cotton Candy Martini"  FINGER OUT!  And eight horsemen later, (seriously 2x Four Horsemen is NOT something to mess around with) He was throwing steak knives and chanting J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!

It was a good time,

-Nick

PROPS:  Jake Gans, for knowing to consult his financial advisor (James Hangley) who told him to PLAY IT OUT!  Congrats Jake.

That's cold-blooded for you to post this 14 minutes and 25 seconds before the scheduled departure time. For the record I arrived at Nick's house at 7:57 AM, a full three minutes early!

An important point that was brought to my attention today - the points structure was not officially announced.  It will be a mirror of the Blue Bell Game Day rankings, in which points are awarded as follows:
