It looks like it's going to be a lot of locals at the very least.  I'm expecting 50+ from the various Long Island stores.  After that, I don't know what.

For starters, I’d like to thank everyone that made the trip out to Brothers Grim yesterday.  Having 44 players for my first standard event was quite heartening, and I’d love to see where we can take this in the future.  February will feature Long Island’s first 1K tournament, hosted by judge extraordinaire Brian Paskoff (of Islandhome fame.)  I am currently working on organizing another tournament in March with similar prize structure.
If you had fun yesterday, I strongly encourage you to join the Facebook group “Stax Exchange Tournament Series.”  The page can be found here:

Tiger, you're confusing me too now.  Ron's list is 3rd of the eight posted.

The metagame was very different as compared to the recent SCG $5Ks.  I think I've understated the variety in Standard.  I'll have to pay closer attention, it actually looks like more of a fun and diverse format than I'd thought.

Glad the event was a success!

Internet browsers have this cool feature called "Find" you should look into it.  I'm not sure where it is in Netscape or whatever browser you use but Ctrl+F or Edit->Find should do the trick.

Hope this helps!

On a more serious note cool to see you having success running events for other formats as well.

Don't worry Steve, Boy Wonder has the unfair advantage of knowing computers inside and out because he is, in fact, a computer.

Thanks!  It wasn't a bad day overall.  Not as much fun as running a Vintage tournament, but not bad nonetheless.  I'm going to try to put something together for March - it'll probably be whatever the PTQ format is then.

Thanks Jeff.  There's a pretty big player base for Standard around here.  Now if only a few more of them picked up Vintage...

You're not kidding, he really is a machine...

The 23rd is mighty soon.  I hope you're looking forward to all things Yankees.  It's going to be a great day.  And there will be much photographic evidence to prove it...

I have mentally prepared myself.  Frankly, I'm already over the Yankees... thank God you're not a Cowboys fan.

In any case you're providing all of this awesome Yankees gear?  I think I might have Navy and White sneakers that would really help me pull off this ensemble and tie the whole thing together.

Yes.  I have, waiting for you, a Mariano Rivera 2000 World Series jersey, a Derek Jeter t-shirt and I'm picking up a Yankees World Series Champions 2009 hat as well.  I figured three pieces of paraphernalia was enough.  I'm picking up the hat this week (is an 8 alright?)  and hope that after the event you wouldn't mind donating it to someone who'd actually wear it/enjoy it...  The hat was $30.

Looking as exceptional as you will that day, I hope that you'd consider putting some pictures up in your SCG article that week...
