Thunderstorm
 {1} {R}
Sorcery
Deal 3 damage to target creature or player. Double the damage dealt for each time a spell named Thunderstorm was cast this turn.

My shot at a printable burn spell that might enable the archetype in Vintage.

A few thoughts I had on this:
  • Three casts in the same turn is lethal: 21 damage (3 + 6 + 12).
  • Finding multiples is obviously key. That plays up our superior tutoring.
  • Will and Wish work for this, also available only in Eternal.
  • Sorcery speed prevents degenerate mirrors, esp in Standard. Also weakens it as removal.
  • So long as it stays a Sorcery, we might be able to shave a colorless. I wouldn't though.
  • Copy effects don't trigger the damage ramp. Mind's Desire works fine.

Hopefully I haven't missed anything that makes this broken as hell.

I suppose it's mostly the thought that this format is just one big Mistake; and not even a very sophisticated one at that.
Much like humanity itself.

If this were a Seal of _______, then it would work with the new green regrowth.

Oh a 3-card 6-mana combo that does 21 damage? I think Vintage has a 2-card 4-mana combo that reads "win the game". It is a good card in my opinion but hardly worthy of Vintage.

Also Infernal Tutor allows you to get multiples once you have one in your hand. Might make an interesting deck for Legacy but Vintage would ignore it.

Mickey Mouse is on a Magic card.  Your argument is invalid.

Yeah, that's my worry as well, and why I included the line about dropping the cost. That said, I prefer to err on the side of caution. I suspect that at {R} instead of {1} {R}, it's too good for Standard. Maybe drop the cost, but only let it target players?

Tendrils is arguably a nine to ten mana wincon, but that didn't make it unplayable. I think that a shell bult for this could consistently go off on turn three, Duressing along the way, with FoW backup.

Re: Infernal Tutor: Yeah, I was thinking of that in specific as well. Kinda reminds me of the Rite of Flame/Tutor interaction for Dragonstorm.
