Ghoultree
7G
Creature - Zombie Treefolk

Ghoultree costs 1 less to cast for each creature cards in your graveyard.

10/10

Possible 10/10 fatty for 1 green mana.  With more dredge decks running city and paradise, casthing this guy for 1 mana after a fat dredge and discard to bazaar could be fairly easy I would think.
4 ghasts, 4 ichorids, 4 troll, 4 imp, +++ should make hitting 7 easy enuff.  What do you guys think?

This card is somewhat intriguing. Maybe an alternate win condition for Dredge? I could see some situations where this guy would be 1 cc 10/10. I could be wrong, but it's an interesting card.

At least Leyline shuts this down as well. So it is still a question of a resolved Claim/Chain/Mare or not. And then you usually die anyway, right?

CMC 1 is VERY different from CMC 2.  That said, I think it would need to have 18+ power before I'd bother with it.  There's a reason why nobody is running DSC as their Tinker target and this suffers from the same problems.

Eh, I've been tinkering with it, and it seems like a neat little game-winner in the midst of a slow-rolling dredge cycle: dredge back golgari thug, cast him, sacrifice him, put Ghoultree on top, draw him, cast him, win. Limited usage but pretty neat.

If we're talking about this card from a Dredge perspective, the 7 creatures v. 10 could certainly be relevant too. If unmolested this also kills in two turns. Not sure that comparing this to Tinker->DSC is fair either. If your deck supports Tinker, good decks will have answers for it handy, postboard I think most people pull their spot removal for graveyard hate. People also don't play DSC because there are better options available. Im not sure there are better options for a gigantic fat creature for one mana in a Dredge deck, other than Dread Return->Fatty. I think if you fit this into a Dredge sideboard and an opponent stuck a Yixlid Jailer or wasted your Bazaar after you got some creatures in the yard I could see this thing blindsiding some opponents. Now, this is still pretty bad against a Leyline, and it may not be good enough

I still believe that it's an anemic clock.  Too much opportunity to "oops I win" around it, chump block, etc.

At the very least, it gets around being hosed by yixlid jailer.
