I went 1-2, throwing the last game by using a Lotus Doomsday pile with a Null Rod out... Me = idiot! Especially because there was a Ritual pile that would have won it and still left me with FoW protection.
Anyways, here's the list:

Pretty mize play by me. Lotus> Jace G1, Lotus>Clique G2 and he STILL pulls it out. G3 was mistakes on both sides, but he's playing combo, so he loses. GG's, duck, I'm sure you'll get a chance at revenge.
I was inspired by that Bazaar/AK/Snapcaster list from NY and decided to try my own mashup:
Super-Still:
4 Force of Will 3 Mana Drain 2 Mental Misstep 2 Misdirection 2 Mindbreak Trap 1 Flusterstorm 1 Swords to Plowshares 1 Hurkyl's Recall 1 Steel Sabotage
2 Enlightened Tutor 4 Standstill 3 Null Rod 1 Crucible of Worlds 1 Control Magic
3 Jace, the Mind Sculptor 2 Snapcaster Mage 1 Vendilion Clique 1 Ancestral Recall 1 Time Walk
4 Misty Rainforest 4 Mishra's Factory 3 Wasteland 3 Tundra 2 Polluted Delta 2 Island 1 Tropical Island 1 Underground Sea 1 Black Lotus 1 Mox Sapphire 1 Strip Mine 1 Library of Alexandria
SB: 3 Yixlid Jailer SB: 2 Oath of Druids SB: 2 Spell Snare SB: 1 Enlightened Tutor SB: 1 Energy Flux SB: 1 Seal of Cleansing SB: 1 Inkwell Leviathan SB: 1 Planar Void SB: 1 Nihil Spellbomb SB: 1 Annul SB: 1 Forest

Give me an ET to shoot for.
I have a 1:30 meeting I have to attend to, but it's possible I could break after that.

The Duck championship (of DOOM) championship match, featuring Ruboonia and Grand Inquisitor, is set for 5:30 ET tonight (January 3rd)! The match will be held on the intarwebs. Go on cockatrice and look for vintage--should be tough to miss our match. Be there or be square.

I beat Grand Inquisitor in two games. Thanks to everyone that came to watch!
I mulled to six in game one, but ripped a Library off the top before my first turn. He played a Standstill, which I broke early after getting Library active. He gets stuck on two lands for a while, so his full hand is useless. I dropped a Jace and bounced his control-magic'ed Dark Confidant before getting into Brainstorm-mode with him. Eventually, I resolve a Mystical for Tinker and he concedes a few turns later.
Game two he resolves Null Rod early and I do some flashbacked-Ancestral shenanigans to build a massive hand. I dropped a Bob in the mid-game and held off his Crucible/Factory creature engine with a Fire and a flashbacked Fire. Another not-so-rare combat phase victory for this deck. I was blind-flipping with Bob for about five turns, but my Blightsteel came to me during my draw step. BSC alone would not have killed me, but BSC + FOW would have.

GGs Rub. Yeah, I just couldn't compete with your draw engines. Nice deck.

Congrats to Ruboonia! As mentioned earlier, Prospero has volunteered to be this week's prize. Y'all figure out when and what you want to play, let us know when, and have fun Oh, and I've approached Brassman about potentially playing the prize match for week 2. We had disagreed on whether people would find it interesting to play historical metas/matches. I thought it would be kind of cool to play the Gifts mirror against a guy who made a lot of his name with Gifts. He wasn't sure people would be interested in that. Thoughts?

For the prize match, shall we see how our decks from the tournament fare or should we play new decks? I think the historical metagame thing could be fun in the future. I didn't play from 2004-2010, but I would be up for the added challenge.

So I just remembered that I owed this match. Ruboonia, I'm still open to our match. I'm free most weeknights from 8-11, Eastern Standard Time. Please let me know when you're available and we'll get this in.
