Slivers being good or not is not something I'll debate, because my mindset goes back and forth on it, but I think we can all agree that if they are a viable strategy they just got some strict upgrades in this set that would at least see play over the last versions, and that merfolks power level remained flat as they got 1 new toy to play with.

Galerider Sliver is almost always going to make the cut over winged, even if it is weaker to Mental misstep (winged is weaker to spell snare though, so meh)
Predatory is either an upgrade, a 12th +1/+1 lord, or allows you to cut white and still have 8
Manaweft Sliver is in all cases a strict upgrade to gemhide
Striking Sliver is probably better than other color options
Syphon is probably a better option than essence

So if slivers are playable, this set is probably important to them.

While it seems I am going to be the more accurate predictor in terms of the # of Pyromancers in Top 8 decklists, it appear we were both probably a bit too conservative.  With several Pyromancers already in Vintage Top 8s, we could see as many as 20-30 Pyromancer decks in Vintage Top 8s.  I'm glad I at least got a bit of space between myself and Kevin on that one Smile
