I would love to play in this, but for the next few weeks or so I'll be relying on public transit until I get a car.   Is there anyone whom I can carpool with from the Bay?

At the moment, I don't work on Saturdays, so I would drive to the bay area to pick you up if necessary! Smile

I haven't yet decided whether I am willing to drive 3 hours for an 8 person tourny, but if I do I can easily make a pickup in berkeley.

If you and some other people are willing to make a drive, it could easily be much larger than 8 people.  If nobody is willing to drive, than it will probably be another ~8 person turnout.  As far as I know, these are the only currently operating Vintage tournaments in Northern California.  Play these or don't play Vintage.

I drove 90 miles (1.5 hrs) to play against you for zero prize support (well, non-foil dci land and foil serum visions), just to play vintage with vintage players!

Also, where in California are you?

I didn't want to sound too negative, its great that you're organizing those events. However, with a full time job and familiy, driving 4+ hours on a weekend is an issue for me. I am living in Menlo Park.

It seems that Berkeley would be a really great tourny location, as I believe its within one hour distance of everybody.

I'm looking forward to some Vintage myself. As a bonus this time it's on a weekend that my wife is off (every other weekend) so I can take her economical car (V6 L300) vs my gas guzzler's (V8 Durango -n- Straight 6 F150). Plus gas prices are the best they've been in awhile. Anyone coming from Sactown/Roseville area can hit me up for a ride as thats my stomping grounds.

I totally understand. I went to Superstars  (90 mile drive to get there) pretty regularly until I lost some teammates (gas, toll, etc). Now I only go if BC's schedule permits. Smile

But Vintage for Cash series will be every other month or so (BC's the shot caller there) so it will be there when you are ready!

Hey guys. I'll be coming from the Berkeley area picking up Smmenen in Oakland. Both Ryan's are out, Reynolds is done for a few years doing the law school thing. Still a seat in the car if anyone needs a ride.

I can't believe this.  I thought this was Sunday.  I missed my ride and there is no phone number to the store here.

Yeah, I've just been conditioned for Sunday tournaments, and no one made me realize otherwise when planning this...

Good news is they have 18 players.  ::cries::

And that was without LSV and Ochoa and other NorCal regulars that I thought I'd see in attendance. *Cough Corey*. Thought I'd see him there since he's a Bay area resident. I called on the way from Roseville to see if they'd hold it up a few when it came to a crawl in West Sactown. At least there was some locals who called as well and it didn't start until 1:30-1:45 ish.

Look for Lotusheads report and pics to possibly be late tonight. He was doing pretty well and able to draw in the last couple matches I believe. Good luck Jeff. Smile

http://www.facebook.com/groups/267586756684840/

I created a NorCal Vintage Scene group on facebook. I'm posting this here because I'm not facebook friends with everybody, but groups on facebook is a pretty good way to stay organized. Join if interested. BC said Sep 22 is next most likely date for next tourney. Hopefully Aardshark won't have friends getting married that day. If they do, get them married at the local card shop in Vacaville. Also, there will be a Vintage event either the weekend before or after Halloween in honor of my buddy Adam who is flying in for his birthday shenanigans.
