While I was roaming around Reddit, I came across a post about LEDs.  My first thought was "Why are they talking about Lion's Eye Diamonds on r/science?".

After chuckling at myself, I found I enjoyed the idea of juxtaposing the double meanings in Magic terminology vs. Real Life.  I think it could make a fun article and thought I would open up the question to the fine folks of TMD.

What are some of your favorite discrepancies between meanings of words and/or phrases in Magic vs. Real Life?

I find myself saying "In response" in reference to one thing happening because of another thing. Sure, it's not incorrect but sometimes "and then x happened" would make way more sense.

I think I'm looking for more general terms like "Salty", "Mulligan" or "Hand Size"

Or maybe even more card specific terms/abbreviations like "Bears" in Magic vs. Bears or "Bolt" vs an actual Bolt

Where I live, our license plates are ordered this way: first a letter or two for the city or region, then 2 (more or less) random letters and a number of 3 to 4 digits. The letter for my city is a L and quite often the next two letters are SV. It's a conspiracy.

Wandering in the street, and my brain & imagination get ticking like crazy when my eyes stumble across signs such as "RUG Shop". FML

Oh!  RUG, that is perfect.

BUG also works.

You could always go with deck names as well.
