I'm not actually involved with this, just posting for the people who don't frequent the board where this was posted.

ES#8 was awesome! We had a great mix of old faces and new ones while the event was taken down by an unpowered and unproxied deck! We are running it back again and holding the next event in our Eternal Struggle Vintage tournament series at Wonko’s Toys & Games! Cue dramatic music for...

Number 9, Number 9, Number 9, ETERNAL STRUGGLE #9!

WHEN

Sunday, April 26, 2015

Entry fee is $10.00

Registration is from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm
Tournament starts at 12:30 pm

WHERE

Wonko's Toys & Games
13776 N Hwy #116
Austin, TX 78750
(located next to O'Reilly Auto Parts)

If you have any questions and need to reach a TO, you may contact Frank Sturgis at: franksturgis AT gmail dot com

Wonko's has plenty of free parking. If you need to purchase cards for this event, please do so before the event. We like to start on time.

TOURNAMENT INFO:

As usual, we are allowing an UNLIMITED number of proxies. We will not charge people for proxies. Proxy events cannot be sanctioned, but this event will be run at Regular REL.

Decklists will be required! We will post the top decklists on ATXMTG.net. To save time, consider printing your decklist out the night before.

Players are encouraged to consult the rules for Vintage deck construction before registering: http://archive.wizards.com/Magic/magazi ... sfrvintage

ROUNDS AND PRIZE STRUCTURE

The number of rounds will be determined by the number of players we get with a cut to top 4 (or 8 depending again on number of players). In top 4 or 8, highest seed will have the choice to play or draw.

The prizes will be paid in Wonko's Toys & Games STORE CREDIT! This store credit may be used to purchase any of their card singles, supplies, sealed products, toys, games, or for entry into any tournaments ran at the store.

100% of the entry fees collected will go to the prize pool! Prizes will be paid out to the top 4 and the breakdown is as follows:

1st = 40% of the prize pool
2nd = 25% of the prize pool
3rd = 20% of the prize pool
4th = 15% of the prize pool

PROXIES

We are very particular about the kinds of proxies that players may use in our Vintage tournaments. Please see the Eternal Struggle Proxy Rules for more information.

If you have questions about whether certain proxies are acceptable, please ask me (Frank Sturgis) or Matt Tedrow in advance. Tedrow can be reached at: tedrow.mtg AT gmail.com.

Damn, would be really nice, but Austin is actually even farther than Dallas from us here.

Maybe there will be an event in Houston eventually we can make it to or something.

I'm actually in Houston and I've been thinking about arranging something. What day of the week would be best?

Probably a Saturday.  Our Vintage "group" has gotten pretty fragmented lately, out of the 7 of us who owned Power, I believe I might be the only one left who still actually owns theirs.  Even the proxied guys have come and gone.  I'm going to see what kind of interest I can drum up again around here though (Southwest Louisiana) and maybe we can get something going eventually.

What kind of a turnout have you gotten in the past?

This one was 25, which is a steady increase from the past. We've gotten a lot of newcomers to Vintage.

Craven,

Frank here. Thanks so much for posting about this. I was on top of it for a bit but slipped. Going to get back into the habit of posting our events and results here. Came here today and saw this. Thanks man! See you around.
