As for the eloquent assumption the Vindicate is "ass", I just don't get it. It's maindeck enchantment and artifact removal which doubles as additional creature and land kill. Never a dead card, I also have yet to draw a Vindicate and think, "damn, why is this in my deck. I suck."
You're not going to get hosed by non-basic land hate that often with so few white cards. However, the more white spells you play (more than Balance has always caused me to run into trouble), the bigger the effect of a random wasteland taking your only white source. And Vindicate *is* ass for a number of reasons:
1.) It is gold. (never a good thing)
2.) It can't be played until turn 3 even with Ritual. (slow)
3.) Misdirection is suddenly a lot uglier. (It was already ugly)
4.) Its power does not outweigh its drawbacks. (that's a bad thing)
5.) Seal of Cleansing is a significantly better way to deal with artifacts and enchantments (post board, of course) because it can be dropped Pre-Pox/Balance, etc.
Oh, and ass really is a bit harsh, but that's just my take. If it isn't causing you problems like it caused me, the more power to you.
