T1 BBS

2 Morphling
1 Masticore
4 Ophidian

2 Impulse
1 Braingeyser
1 Stroke of Genius
1 Fact or Fiction
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Time Walk

2 Back to Basics
1 Nevinyrral's Disk
3 Powder Keg

4 Force of Will
4 Counterspell
3 Misdirection
4 Mana Drain

1 Library of Alexandria
17 Island
1 Sol Ring
1 Black Lotus
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Mox Ruby
1 Mox Pearl
1 Mox Jet
1 Mox Emerald

SB:  1 Hydroblast
SB:  1 Blue Elemental Blast
SB:  1 Magical Hack
SB:  1 Masticore
SB:  1 Misdirection
SB:  1 Powder Keg
SB:  1 Nevinyrral's Disk
SB:  1 Zuran Orb
SB:  1 Dream Tides
SB:  2 Alter Reality
SB:  2 Back to Basics
SB:  2 Tormod's Crypt

After some testing I've found out that overall the mainboard masticore helps a lot.  Im actually pretty comfotable with the mainboard choices.  Some people prefer not to see mainboard back to basics, masticore, or nev disk, but back to basics resolves means major problems for a powered environment (keeper), nev disk solves any enchantment problem that may be parfait and win games it wouldn't without it, etc.

The SB is my real problem.  The other sb options are usually more BEB, Treachery, etc.

A lot of people are probably looking at Alter Reality and decided that im just a stupid moron.  Well Alter Reality is actually really good.  In most match ups they bring blue hate such as REB, Pyroblast, etc.  The Alter Reality is a double counter for whatever SB hate they bring in for BBS.

Im also thinking about Rainbow Efreet.  It does stop opposing Morphlings but im not sure if the card is worse a spot in the SB.  And personally I can't find room.

Dream Tides really help in a random environment.  Magical Hack can help in a random environment as well.  But im really thinking of cutting this card for something else.  Since i haven't seen things like Boil or Tsunami in a long time.  Some radom people might be running it.  Its always a nice insurance.  But its just that I never see it anymore.

I decided to put 2 Tormod's Crypt since TNT, FEB, Parfait, etc all make use of their graveyard.  Against certain situations Phyrexian Furnace would probably be better.  But Tormod's Crypt is better in more situations then phyrexian furnace.  Tell me what you think about this choice.

EDIT: Changed all occurances of 'BSB' to 'BBS' since it will be more recognizable. The only person who calls it 'BSB' is Rakso to my knowledge. Razz

well, a magical hack or sleight of mind in the side are not bad IF you play with cunning wish. Try it...

Also try to tune your side to add: 1-3 hibernation and 1-2 capsize.

TAke out dream tides and zuran orb. Instead replace them with chill (if you want more red hate) and anything else you like. Don't remove the 2nd disk from the side. it's usefull against decks like enchantress etc.

Also why just 1 hydroblast? If you want cheap counters against red try playing with at least 3 of them (or blue elemental blast)

Hope I helped...

Cut the braingeyser and make room for a Cunning Wish.

For the sideboard:

I think you should pack some Psi Blasts in the side: they help a lot against Sui.

Try also Control Magic. Don't use treachery. You've got 4 turn against a Negator, not 5.

Make room for a capsize, and maybe a Hybernation if you need it.

Cut Magical Hack, Alter Reality and Dream Tides.

Hope I helped.

I'm opposed to Cunning Wish technology in BBS -- leave that for decks like Keeper who get a wide range of options from it.

Capsize is much better maindeck than Nev's Disk in general and Treachery is awful compared to Control Magic.  Becuase by the time to you can cast treachery, your dead.  The casting cost matters.  Not playing maindeck back to basics is silly.

@Smmenen

I've tested Wish and it is simply great because it allows you to play all these cards you can't fit in.(Ex. I'd like a 3rd Misd, I'd like a capsize, If only I had a Psi Blast... ecc. ecc.)
I also recently played a game in which my graveyard had been removed from the game, I've been able to wish for my Ancestral and cast it a second time!

Also, he maidecks 2 B2B. I think it's enough.

But the thing is, the Wish doesn't really allow the fluid use of a third misdirection to back up an early phid or B2B.

I don't like wishing for capsize becuase that adds three more mana to Capsizes casting cost (and some of the times you use capsize, you will be in a vulnerable state and want to play it immediately).

My personal opinion is that Wish in mono blue is bad, but that its difficult to see why at first.

Thanks everyone for replying.  Now I've seen the cunning wish versions of this deck and it was actually run by friend of mine a while back.  That was back when the deck was still in small bits and pieces (I didn't have all the moxens).  So maybe cunning wish might change things now.

Anyhow what does the SB look like in the cunning wish version?

This is what I came up with.

1xAlter Reality
1xPsionic Blast
1xHibernation
1xCapsize
1xMisdirection
1xMagical Hack
1xHydroblast
1xBEB
2xTormods Crypt
2xBack to Basics
1xPowder Keg
1xNevinyrrals Disk
1xZuran Orb

I still feel the orb is neccessarry against aggressive decks.  I also think with cunning wish running magical hack might be able to help.  As well as Alter Reality.

One person have suggested taking out Braingeyser.  And that may be a good idea.  But im not sure.  It feels like your taking out important card draw for a spell that might not even matter.

So you feel the Zorb is necessary against Aggressive decks, how does that work?  This isn't Keeper where your massive amount of tutors and recursion can get it when you need it.  Unless your playing four with four impulse, you chances of seeing it on demand are quite slim.

As for cunning Wish: Here is why is doesn't fit: the biggest weakness of this deck is the early game.  Cunning Wishing for answers is quite slow -- AT BEST, with BEB, it's a 4 Casting Cost creature kill.  That's hard to manage and only against RED.  This isn't Keeper where you get STP brokenness and the massively good REB.

In my opinion, THE BEST card that Cunning Wish can fetch is Psionic Blast and then Misdirection/Divert.

That is an awful limited use and doesn't help against the decks primary weaknesses with the lone exception of negator, and by the time you can actually Cunning Wish AND then cast Psionic Blast, you might be dead anyway.  If your at 5 life, that sets you to one, and your own mana drain will probably kill you or you inability to FOW might too.  It puts you at a precarious position.

If you have ever used Hibernation, then you know why it is bad.

Yeah I agree with what you've said.  I've always thought of cunning wish like that actually.  But a lot of people suggested it and I haven't really tryed it so I thought it was worth a shot.  But I still haven't tested yet.  Soryy.

Hmm well after thinking to myself.  Cunning Wish does help and it doesn't lose speed at all.  Since your cutting a late game card draw anyways.  Yes it can be an early game or mid game with enough of the power.  But with that type of hand you already have speed anyways.

Anyhow this is what I tryed out.

SB:  1 Stroke of Genius
SB:  1 Hydroblast
SB:  1 Blue Elemental Blast
SB:  1 Capsize
SB:  1 Hibernation
SB:  1 Misdirection
SB:  1 Psionic Blast
SB:  1 Alter Reality
SB:  1 Powder Keg
SB:  1 Nevinyrral's Disk
SB:  2 Back to Basics
SB:  2 Tormod's Crypt
SB:  1 Masticore

I cut stroke of genius and put cunning wish.  Then I put stroke in the sb for the cunning wish.  I didn't want to cut braingeyser and with this you can essentially have both geyser and stroke.  I was also thinking of cutting ophid for cunning wish instead of stroke.  What does everyone else think?
