http://www.starcitygames.com/php/news/expandnews.php?Article=5647 Quote In Part I, we recapped card advantage and summed up that drawing extra cards is like taking extra turns. However, this is put in context when you consider that an extra turn has other components, in addition to an extra card draw:
Untap all your permanents Draw one card Play one land Make an attack
"Play one land per turn" is a fundamental restriction, and we discussed how one can break this with cards as simple and familiar as Dark Ritual and Mishra's Workshop.
Today, we continue with our exploration of the non-card advantage components of a turn, and link land drops with the use of an untap phase.

Tom is not the 2003 world champion as stated in your article. In fact, Tom wasn't even qualified to compete in the event. Other than that, I have nothing to say.

How dare you belittle Spindrift Drake as a Fish option?!
In the right metagame, Spindrift becomes the best creature in Fish...granted, most metagames presently are not such, but about 6-9 months ago, the Spindrift Drake won me a good many matches by dropping down turn one and swinging 10 times against somebody who couldn't stop him.
Sorry for the meaningless and completely insight-less rant, but I just can't stand for the belittling of the greatest Drake ever! (although your reasons for your decision were quite sound and your analysis of the investment theory was thorough and clear).

Was it just me or did anyone else think that the article did not really have any new information from what people that like t1 magic already know on Keeper? Sorry, Rakso, you may have reassured me that B/G control with discard and beatings is good, but this article merely pimps the keeper deck which the majority of people either can not afford it or have the common sense not to spend that much money on. At least you could have given us some budget options like K-Run has done with decks and reccomended ideas that are a bit more practical for the average game and easier on the wallet decks that do not rhyme with suicide, stompy, sligh, taiga, funk or parfait

I believe that I have seen something like this on the now defunct bdominia.com, but I felt that the article was trying to pimp expensive decks than encourage newer players to t1 that you do not have to spend a fortune to play something half way decent

No offense, but what article are you reading? This one was about tempo, not budget decks. It's beginning concepts, not beginning decks. And what does bdominia have to do with anything?
If you want budget decks, just do a search for the word "budget"--many new threads have been devoted to this concept.
