The second monthly power tournament is happening at T&T collectables on saturday this weekend.

Located in hadley massachusettes in the hampshire mall.

First Prize: Signed Mox Pearl
Second and Third will depend on entries
Entry Fee: $10
Format: T1
Start Time: 12 Noon, but come earlier to trade and stuff. Also we usually start later than that.
Date: Saturday 9/14

I need as many good players to come as possible! My boss is playing in the tournament, and if he top eights then I get no pay that weekend, otherwise I get double. So ya'll better come.

I hope to see all of you that came last time again, and bring all your friends.

2) Metagame? I hear there was like an OSE deck, a powerless mono-blue, Misc. bad aggro, and perhaps some other powered deck?

3) Whats your boss playing? If I kick the snot out of him, is there some sort of bounty?

4) How many people can the store hold, theres a chance that if I come, Im bringing a few others.

5) Is the store easy to get to from i-95?

I am going to hit my friend Matt (rOSE) up so perhaps hell drive (I despise pressing so much as a gas pedal in Mass, since everyone there is a dickhead driver! Hey steve, don't get so cocky! I'm coming with the full compliment of 4 other people this time! I plan on winning this time(though if I suck as much as i did in the finals last time, I stand little chance.)

BTW, does the store have either Ancestral, or LOA? I know your boss said he was getting some Ancestral's in, and if he is, I'd probably buy one, which would make me play a completely different deck. LMK.

Im lending my cards out this time, so there will be at least one very powered (cant say fully) deck out there, then there are the few locals with power (only one came last time, and he didnt do that well). Also, my boss is being kinda mean  (not really at all, just me talking) in that he went out and got a full compliment of power and extra this week and didnt tell me before we made the bet, but you should still beat him given his deck is real bad. If you beat him I will give you a cookie, but if he still makes top 8, you have to give me 1/2 of it back.

Also, the guy that won last time is "more" powered in that he has lotus and recall now (as well as the ruby he won), but he might be playing suicide black instead of the same mono U.

Metagame is mostly random bad, some random good. Some well tuned aggro (void, sligh, suicide), and rare good control.

Also, if you go and play a big fat guy with lots of power that says "squee is my friend" a lot. Please beat the crap out of him, his deck is a pile and he is cocky as hell because he (amazingly) came in third last time (losing to Chuck, then dissing the consistancy of suicide black).

Every second week of a month is a tournament for power (december lotus, second twister we think).

I can make a post about it and if someone could sticky it it would be good.

We also have weekly T1s for packs every saturday at 12.

I hope your not talking about the guy playing the Zombie Infest deck.  He did manage to run through a gauntlet of counter decks, which, should have been able to trash a deck that, in the "wisdom" of the poeple that frequent this site, is a sub-par tournament deck.

Besides the fact that, if your are talking about him, he and I came up to your tournament and brought along Chuck and Eric adding 4 people to your tournament roster.  It's bad buisness to talk smack about your customers.

If anyone just sat there muttering something about squee, I'd make fun of said player right there. Annoying is annoying and cocky is cocky.

As for that deck, I should be coming and I hope that whoever it is brings that Zombie thing.  With all the graveyard hate TnT has been forcing into my sb's, I dont think removing some baazar/infestation fodder from the game will be all that impossible.

Out of curiousity, how many of those 'counter decks' were fully powered?

Conventional Wisdom is right, I'll assume that was an insult to the overall intellegence of this site. Here is the defence:

If a deck depended on 4 land based draw engines in a format where most everyone runs 4-5 strips, and now tons of graveyard hate, then I would lean towards it being a bad deck in a competent environment. Am I correct in assuming that about 60% of that metagame has little enough understanding of Vintage that wastelands are a must?

Oh yeah, its looking like I will be flying solo. I havent heard from Andrew (LoA), my friend who plays stacker is working, and my friend who would show up to scrub out with rOSE (he hasnt played much in the last 6 months) is probably busy but a distant possibility.

The only thing is, I have to get up at like the ANUSCRACK of dawn because I need to get an arm workout and cardio before I'm off for the day. Then I get to drive a little over 2 hours and try to find this place. Oh yeah, it'll be a great day.

Was I wrong about who came in third? I also don't think your friend dissed the consistancy of Sui like I said this guy did.

This is the guy with a really bad keeper, with squee and compulsion thrown in randomly, then he said "squee is my friend" constantly to remind himself to bring squee back.

Also, I knew you guys all saw it here, so I wouldn't diss anyone from here, I'm not dumb.

EDIT: Zherbus, he's playing mono-u Ilosetoaturnonecreature.dec, but it should be improved by then. Last time I saw it I could have beaten it with a pre-con, but I'm sure he is improving it, because he has ALL the cards he needs, but he is still a pretty new player.

Does it have Phids? Or is this one of those 'Ill stuff 78 counters in a deck with some morphlings and lands' type things?

I told him to put phids in, I think hes gonna. That was before the bet of course.

Its not gonna have kegs unless he gets advise from someone, and its basically gonna be counters, morphlings, phids, restricted draw, mana. He should get his ass kicked (I hope).

EDIT: I was just wondering, because last time all the people that came didn't post they were coming, if anyone was planning on coming up through the Albany area? If so spin13 needs a ride, if you could PM him and work something out it would be good. The more people who can beat my boss that come, the better.

Well, my sui black deck is going to clean up once more...I Just completely geared my sideboard to beating mono-u  .....but seriously, considering I'm much more experienced with it now, I think I can win this time.

By the way, as of the last time I talked to him, Spin isn't coming, but CooberP might be..Not really sure about anyone else.

Just kidding, I used mapquest and an online yellow pages directory to find directions. I basically get to i-91 and take it to town (route 9).
