The early use of the Sylvan shocked me. Perhaps I am too conservative, but I really only use the card-drawing against Control decks or if I absolutely need the card to live/win.
Quote 14:25:40 - Jeek plays Kaervek's Torch.
14:25:54 - Barktooth says:'for 3?'

14:27:53 - Tundra is tapped.

I dont see the extra two mana you need to counter a Torch here?
Quote 14:32:28 - Jeek says:'GGG.'
14:32:33 - Jeek says:'Treetop is a creature.'
14:32:39 - Treetop Village is tapped.

14:32:42 - Wasteland is tapped.
14:32:44 - Forest is tapped.
14:32:45 - Mountain is tapped.
14:32:47 - Jeek plays Fling.

I cant really follow what happened to the mana here? Dont you burn for 1 when you declare the Treetop attacking and then burn again since you tapped 2R for Fling? I suppose you both just agreed that the extra G1 went into making the Treetop a creature twice? I suppose its not worth mentioning, as you did say that chaos happened on that turn.
Part of why I dislike apprentice; things that are perfectly clear IRL become sort of mysterious in the log.
But, congratulations on the win in any case.
The Wasteland was his. I animated the Treetop during the Combat phase, before declaring attackers. I declared it as an attacker, then he Wastelanded it. In response to the Wasteland, I flung the Treetop. I then smacked myself in the forehead for tapping the forest when I didn't need to, and burnt myself for 1 at the end of the combat phase, and then my turn was over.

About the Mana Drain nonsense, check the timestamps... by the time he played the Mana Drain, I had forgotten about the Torch's ability.
As far as the Sylvan goes, I have no idea what he was thinking. Only reason I would have done it would be if the cards really sucked and I wanted to get through my deck faster, or there were two things I really really wanted.
