TMD OI, Nimrod 1 - Puschkin 2

GAME 1:
So, I walk into the game very confident, though a bit nervous, so we roll, and he goes first, not like If i wanted to go first anyway. I mulligan and if I recall correctly so does he.

He plays swamp and pass the turn, Then, I turn into the mad broken nimmy, and play 7 cards in my turn, getting Scroll Rack, Land Tax, Mox Ruby, Plains, and God remembers what else into the game in my first turn, this game already blows.

He plays a disk next turn, but I get the stuff back via diverse parfait recursion, He plays a mana crypt which takes him to lik 11 life, I play a Mesa and bring him to 6 life with svg tight pegasus beats, then he casts a Dark Ritual, and then another one, and I respond with Orim's Chant kickered (he had 2 critters out, which I neutralized with Story Circle). That mise brings him to 1 life, and he scoops, getting me a bit closer to the title of the coolest person evar, by doing a svg first turn, and for turning Orim's Chant into an instant, lightly costed Lava Axe.

My SBing: 1- Blood Moon, -1 Mountain, -1 Claws, -1 Soldevi Digger (I ph34r not discard), +1 StoP, +2 Abolish, +1 Rune of Protection Artifacts

GAME 2:
I keep a hand that will allow me to play 2nd turn rack, not amazing, but good enough, and he plays a first turn Chimeric Idol via workshop (did I ever h8 a card..), and the next turn another one, I abolish one of them, and play a rune of protection artifacts, locking the board so far, the luck seems to be with me so far, he plays a Disk, and next turn I respond with Karmic justice, and since im holding a replenish (that I hide from duresses with the rack, he knows im holding something but he doesnt know what) I try to subtly convince him to blow the disk up, since I have 5 lands in play, and an argivian find in hand, which would cause that if he blows his disk, karmic lets him without any permanents, then I play replenish and find the rack and mise him good...

Sadly, this doesnt goes like this.. well, it sort of does, but...

He didnt know that karmic justice would blow his land, so I go like "Im the TC, I should be nice to people", and let him do the stuff again, which ends up with him having 3 creatures in board, agaisnt my lonely lonely StoP in hand, and replenish wont save me from this.

So, I use my find, and do a mistake, and instead of grabbing the Rune Of Protection: arftifacts, I make a mistake and grab the Scroll Rack, I tell him I scrubbed out, but sadly, I did not get the chance of making up for my shit, so, I only had 5 life, and he had 2 war beasts out, and this is game.

I SB the same for the next game, as I think that it was my shittyness that made me lost.

GAME 3:
I keep a hand that will allow me to go turn 1 tax without lands, and turn 2 rack, but he manages to avoid me taxing, and also have threats out.

I StoP his threat, and he plays a Static Orb, but I am holding an abolish since my initial hand, so since I only have 2 permanents tapped (rack and a land) I let the orb to hang around so he makes his game relying on it and I can just blow it when I need to untap more permanents.

I play mesa and he plays Dystopia, so we pull around, and he keeps it until it has 4 counters, then he blows a Disk, and in response I Enlightened Tutor for humility, when Im at 17, so I feel pretty confident since he just plays one negator. Though, he plays another 2, and attacks me for several turns while I fail to get an answer until Im very low in life, but then he casts Y. Will with 2 rituals in his graveyard, and overwhelms me :<.

Overall, the games were very fun, and they were some good plays on both sides I think, though, my mistake killed me, even there, I feel fine, since I other than that mistake I feel fine about how I used my deck, also, Puschkin is a great guy and we have had many fun over the past few days

Additions to the notes above (from memory, we had a disconnect inmidst the second game and the previous logs were lost):

Game one:
After Nimrod made his first turn :broken:-madness I used my lonely Swamp for Demonic Consultation on a Workshop, the only chance to deploy the Disk. It blew over half of my library.
This would have been very funny to watch in a real game, kiddies would just go "oooh" about all the cards we played and after popping the Disk, the table was as empty as before (or as in another format by this time).
What is missing there: I casted Y. Will from one of the Rituals and THEN he Chanted me! It was so humilating, the whole game he drew the right answers and I had no chance whatsoever.

Game Two:
The Karmic Justice Incident: I thought it would only trigger when I targetted his permanents. I popped the Disk (had to do this anyway) and right at that moment we suffered that disconnect. When he returned later we tried to reconstruct the mess because I already casted some spells while he could not reply! What he allowed me to take back was to float some mana of the destryed Workshop and Swamp, which netted me one additional critter.
Then he Argivian Finded eot the Scroll Rack and I didn´t even notice that mistake at first. When he already took his turn I noticed and asked him why he didn´t get the RoP instead. I only asked because I thought he did on purpose and had something up his sleeve. I did not offer to take that back, mainly because it was already one turn later (we did allow taking things back immideatedly beforehand).
I really felt bad about this, especially since the disconnect with more than 30 minutes of break put us both out of flow and he might just have forgotten abut the RoP and his life total of 5.

Game three:
That was a realy strange and great one. Now that I read Nimrod´s report and see his thoughts behind his moves it was even better (like he allowed the Static Orb on purpose!).
We basically both played control, it was not obvious that I am playing the aggro deck!
First I lacked critters, I drew only one and sat on two Unearths that were useless because the one critter was Plowed. Then, after the Disk, I held 3 Negators which I could play one each turn with my three Swamps but he had this friggin Humility! I really played really slow Black Weenie then while he was Racking like crazy for an answer. I hoped to get enough damage through until I drew something useful but I never really believed that this triplet of Phyrexian assassins would go all the way to victory!
(okay, without that huge Will I wouldn`t probably)

Yeah, very funny, wild, enjoyable games, although my deck never performed how it should, the supposed redundancy is either nonexistant or was lost in Apprentice shuffler, I dont know. I saw only one Hypno (the namesake after all!) all three games but I drew the Warbeasts like crazy allthough there only three of them and they screwed me here and there when I lost lands because of them.

So my props go definately to Nimrod who could have insisted on my misplay not due to not knowing exactly what Karmic Justice does, if he had, I would have lost right there second game. Thanks him I have now the one victory I was aiming for in this tourney, preventing me of totally scrubbing out, now I can play the other games relaxed.

Karmic Justice (OD-R), color: W, cost: {2W}, Enchantment; Whenever a spell or ability an opponent controls destroys a noncreature permanent you control, you may destroy target permanent that opponent controls.

It's pretty obvious, but whatever... The TC allowed it )

I thought it said "target". You don´t look up things you think you know. Also, we talked a lot while playing, even discussing little strategic things. When he played Karmic Justice I even aked him why he runs it (it was the second game and I assumed he sideboarded it). I was astonished since I thought it would only be useful against my Sinkholes.
The difference was one critter in the end (I held a Workshop in hand) and with that misplayed Argivian Find he would have lost anyway I guess.

You don´t have to allow things like this if paired against me, CF, and I would not even mind.
