Can't take the originality Nick? (thats right, I refered to you by your real name). I wouldn't quite call those decks duck tape decks, they are just Smokestack decks that took the idea of Meditate. I dont believe Janky is the correct term either, more like dopeness. I love it when people do well with new decks, unless its tog.

i'm really starting to appreciate the deck development of the people at dulmen.  sphere of resistance is a great response to the 'gro engine' that aggro-control uses to dominate the environment.  i do agree that a lot of the success of the decks posted should be accredited to the people piloting them, but the metagame shift is so practical, so...german.

Almost makes those of us supporting the archtype look knowledgeable.
The decks that won are very close to the original Lock,Stock that I've now altered. Seems I should put Sphere of Resistance back in.

You should definitely give them a try then.  DuckTape is actually pretty fearsome, especially against unprepared opponents.  And these decks seem thematically similar to DuckTape and Lock/Stock - I dont think there is a card in there that I have not seen in DuckTape at one time or another.

I think its a bit of a metagame thing; its certainly good against Gro and Sligh though.  The Sphere slots tend to be a bit flexible, depending on what new tech you are trying out.  Certainly the core of the deck is the 'Stack/Wire/Welder/Meditate engine, which is already 16 cards.  (15 in Germany it seems. Wink  Add a decent amount of land, some restricted cards and a couple win conditions and four slots for Spheres becomes harder to justify.

Oh my god nick you called me by my real name!   I'm not calling duct tape a bad deck, its actually what I play right now, I love it (But mines a better name, kind of like your name, Neo Duck   ). I just find that mana base to be completely messed up, and some other decks just weird. But then again Germany's metagame is not ours now is it.
