Hey, I'll gradually add some pieces of Eindhoven coverage from today here.
Since I just got back, I'll give you the deck breakdown, T8 decks later today.
Since I scout a lot, I pretty much known what everyone was playing.

There were only 18 people, for god knows what reason, but they were all serious decks, and most (fully) powered.

Deck Breakdown:

1) Arthur Tindemans - Monobrown control (I refuse to call it MUD!)
2) Ton van der Linden - Growatog
3) Nico van der Hoeven - Gay Fish
4) Steven Bukkems - Tangle TnT
5) Menno Rieff (mrieff) - b/g void
6) Jochem van den Hoven (Goochem - unreg)- Growatog
7) Bram Verhees (Kaervek) - Growatog
8) Stefan Gussenhoven - Growatog
9) Joram de Kraker - ub artifact control
10) Marc van Dijk - Enchantress Combo
11) Koen van der Hulst (Thug) - Monobrown control (nonono, no MUD ! )
12) Rudy van Soest (me) - Ankh Sligh
13) Maarten Bukkems - Gay Fish
14) Ward Poulisse (BWM) - Dryad Sligh
15) Evert Geurtsen - UB control
16) Raymond Starrenburg - Pandeburst (dubbed : Bagdad's Revenge)
17) Leon Kusters (Cyberknight - unreggie) - Stupid Green
18) Ellen Bijl - b/g Void

The mistake got corrected, all posts edited accordingly.\n\n

either the keeper players (like cybernight) opted to go rogue for fun, and Shard Phoenix and Pyromaniac both weren't there, who would both be either rector trix or keeper.

I never touched my deck before the tourney (or any T1 deck!), so take my comments with agrain of salt.

I was reasonably happy with the outcome, 4-2.
I was really satisfied with my Royal Assasins SB, they rocked against all my opponents with creatures (that is, 5 of them). The voids I didn't like at all, they were just "win more' cards most of the time.
I dont think my deck had enough black mana sources, this deck really needs 2 to operate. Note that I didnt play my Mox Emerald, because i could only cast half om my spells with it. And it has negative synergy with deed.

I was quite surpised by the friendly and laid-back atmosphere. For a guy who almost only plays PTQ's and even stricter tournaments, it was quite a difference.
I do think that there is a lot improvement to be made with regard to playing skills overall (that includes myself). i made a couple of quite questionable plays, but around me I saw some very "interesting" plays as well.

oh well, I had a good time. Next tournament , when I can spare the time, I will definetely show up.

About heroes reuinion in nr2's decklist.

[21:28:51] (MoreFling): on a sidenote
[21:28:55] (MoreFling): ton wanted to use dromar's charm
[21:29:02] (MoreFling): to annoy us all with  tech
[21:29:15] (MoreFling): but then he couldn't find it when we arrived at the scene
[21:29:27] (MoreFling): he put it in his pocket, instead of in his binder, to be sure not to forget
[21:29:30] (MoreFling): and then he coudln't fine it anymore

since there weren't any subscriptions on the pictures, I'll try to make some:

1) Me, looking rather frustrated after looking at a Tog-goldfish, damn, I really hate that deck, I'm gonna burn some of those stupid creatures (seeing the play-mat, it's Kaervek who's playing that disgusting deck)

2) Koen (thug) playing his mono-brown against the enchantress-deck (??)

3) Bram, still busy goldfishing... Damn, think faster, you're gonna auto-win anyways...

4) Look, there were sick tog-players everywhere... o_0

5) Ellen, playing against, yet another of those stupid tog-players...

6) Steven playing against Koen (thug) artifacts versus other artifacts... o_0

7) So far the Cursed Totem... ::Bye::

8) Nico, playing gay fish against another of those filthy tog-decks...

9) Ton versus Steven, Tog versus Tubbies

10) Look, I've got a 5/3 haste on turn 1, and I'm not playing Tubbies
~well, this was the second turn, but it was nontheless a 5/3 haste that already had attacked for 5 last turn~

11) Limbo versus Gayfish o_0

12) Other side of the table...

13) Bram, you really liked this match, huh? Why waste space on three pictures of it Wink Whatever, no togs, so me is already happy

14) Filthy deck against Gay Fish... Hmm, which deck is the deck of a REAL man?? :S

15) Ellen, facing another stupid deck...

16) Hurray, tog is gonna lose

17) Same match of 8 pics ago, still busy...

18) Tog's gonna get 0wned!!

19) Steven versus, sigh, seriously, TOG

20) Thug looks rather charming, don't you think??
note: he's playing against Mrieff (sp?) from tmd.com

21) Disgusting Tog versus Tubbies

22) Tubbies vs Tog

23) Tubbies vs Tog, Rudy, you really liked this game, huh?

24) Gay Fish versus the REAL gay deck...

I adjusted all the post above to reflect the new standings, which I emailed the TO about. It seems my round6 matchup against Enchantress was misreported, where I also should've won, if I played less conservatively, and yet managed to lose
All the props go to the guy playing it though, he had a pretty cool deck, hands down.

@BWM: I took more pictures, since I took about 40 or 50. I can't help it if Bram's camera messes them up

:edit: the pic you labeled as thug charmed, is him playing against mrieff btw, for people who like to know our members
Quite honestly, I only figured out it was him in the car on the way back, and so I forgot to make him sign a Pegasus \n\n

Heh, I was trying to make the photo fail by moving my cards at high speed. I didnt like that Dead blowing up all my permanents

And it IS MUD, not calling it MUD is like not admitting that everyone has to die once

I didn't take a single one of the pics. If someone or some match is featured a lot, it's because of Morefling.

Interesting that you should pick THAT particular matchup for THAT particular comment Smile Stop crying about GAT, BWM. So your Dryad Sligh got smashed twic (3 times?) by it. Get over it.

Camera's mess pictures up the same way computers mess up software...they don't. People do. Some of the 40+ pics were indeed blurred or dark, but that's mostly because you didn't hold the camera steady or because you relied on auto-flash (in some situations, a photographer should obviously set flah on manual). Most of the pics I didn't post, however, were plain old boring or taken at such funny angles as to not reveal the identity of any of the players or their decks (you did manage to get a couple of nice views of the ceiling, though. Mad props! Smile\n\n

Dont worry, There will be other opportunities for people to take my autograph. Just notify me beforehand, so I can keep my Bodyguards at bay when you approach.

And indeed, the deed (pun!) proved to be acceptable against all those aftifact decks...

I don't think that an average combocontrolbeatdown-deck (come on, stuff like that shouldn't even be considered tier5, speak that out, combocontrolbeatdown) should be able to deal 20 damage THAT fast without using a X-card-combo... Stompy and sligh are designed to do that...

I got smashed in three times by Gat (= 6 games, there was only 1 game where the opponent's life total went below 8 life, so I actually had a chance that game)

Gat is just an overplayed deck... A real man wouldn't play a dirty deck like that...

That's pure nonsense, BWM, and I hope you know it.

GAT is a well-designed deck, it's tons of fun to play, and on top of that, it's really, really good.

It may be overplayed, yes. Although I question that (in Eindhoven, 4 out of 18 were GAT. In Castricum, the ratio's much better, even). Teh deck is hyped, and people want to get a feel for it.

Quote
Quote A real man wouldn't play a dirty deck like that...

That's just a cheap shot since you feel bad for losing. If you wanna beat GAT, go play something else like mono black. You can't expect to randomly take a weird sligh deck (that splashes for dryads) to a tourney that you KNOW has a high GAT count, and expect to take it home...that just shows ignorance.

Crying about it later on shows a lack of character.
