I've been reading most everything posted here in the type 1 forums for the last month or so, I've been playing for about a year now and so far this board has been the most helpful. Thanks for this forum and if I start to post a lot maybe I'll try to register. Anyways my question was this, we are having a "big" tournament at our card shop in January meaning better then normal prizes (don't know what they are yet) I expect everyone to be playing there best and I think at least two will be trix decks. Is the new Onslaught card False Cure a good idea in my sideboard? (of course if I end up playing black that is). And if not, what are some other answers to it   O ya and hey Puschkin, at least I know someone here, got and more "extremely casual decks"?

Trix isn´t considered that hot and False Cure is not the answer. If Necor hit, you have already lost. And if they play the mono-blue version ... well, that´s nothing but a suboptimal BBS deck. They´ll cast the illusions exclusively with counterbackup, so False Cure, being an reactive card, doesn´t help you. Good old Duress is much better in that regard. Also, a Disenchant effect in response to the CIP effect of gaining 20 life does kill them. So why use a narrow card like False Cure if you you could run a spell of the same cc that is also useful in other situations?

Yep, future opponent right here    I'm John (the kid that plays reanimator) Duress is better against trix than false cure, it's true. Any disenchant effect too.. too bad black doesn't have any target disenchant effects! Stupid black.. err don't want to sound racist..
