Hi, this is my first post on themanadrain, I was going to post this in the Extended forum, but I wasn't sure if unregistered people were allowed to post anywhere but here. So, I think my application is being processed. (Hopefully)

I thought I'd post a new deck concept I was thinking of, so here it is:

Confined Trenches:

3   Karplusan  Forest
2   Brushland
9   Forest
6   Plains
5   Mountain

4   Birds of Paradise
2   Llanowar Elves
3   Groundskeeper
2   Yavimaya Elder
2   Ravenous Baloth
2   Harrow
3   Weathered Wayfarer
2   Wrath of God
2   Solitary Confinement
3   Enlightened Tutor
3   Shock
4   Volcanic Hammer
3   Goblin Trenches

SB
2   Phantom Centaur
2   Ravenous Baloth
2   Naturalize
1   Ray of Revelation
3   Earthquake
2   Wrath of God
3   Coat of Arms

Began this deck based on Solitary Confinement + Goblin Trenches + Groundskeeper/Weathered Wayfarer to provide a defense while generating huge numbers of tokens.

Ravenous Baloth - added to stay alive against early beats.
Yavimaya Elder - Pure card advantage
Llanowar Elves - Replaced Skyshroud Elves

SB - Creatures + Earthquake come in for swarm decks
Coat of Arms for game 2 when Engineered Plague is put in.
Enchantment hate for Rock, ALure, and Turbo Oath.

Suggestions? Comments? Opinions? Does it look viable?

Thanks

Oh yeah, I also forgot to mention I was considering adding Squee, Goblin Nabob maindeck.

OK - but how do you draw cards, after you had played the confinement?

And what are you doing against a 2nd turn flying fattie?

You get cards to pitch to confinement through Weathere Wayfarer (Your opponent will almost always have more lands than you) and Groundskeeper primarily (1G: Return a basic land from graveyard to hand).

I was also toying with using Squee as reusable discard.

Shock and Volcanic Hammer should be able to remove most threats (2nd turn flyers) until Solitary Confinement can be played. Wrath of God is used for the same purpose.

Many a times, i've waited for that white mana source to show up while Wrath of God sits useless in my hand, and that is playing blue/white!.

Good luck with a 3 color.

Also, using Painlands waiting to set up a Confinement lock can be painful, unless you draw what you need fast.

What set was Enlightened Tutor reprinted in? I remember it back in Mirage( i think Wink ), but haven't seen the reprint.

If so, it's not legal in Extended right now (if not ignore my ignorance  )

Since i'm not registered, can't go back and edit.

Tutor is in VI'th, so nevermind what I said.

Yeah, I wasn't sure about Enlightened Tutor either, but I looked it up and it had been reprinted, so, lucky me.

About the mana consistency, I occasionally had problems when I ran Skyshroud Elves over Llanowar Elves, and there's been a slight increase in colorscrew, but it works faster. I'm counting on BoPs and Weathere Wayfarer to get me that second white mana. (Although hopefully I won't need to Wrath)
