I've never really been into Type 1.X (bein a Type 1 player for years), but I've heard about The Rock.  I know it's an Extended deck, that its G/B, and I am looking for any information on it.  Like a sample decklist, strategy, how to play it, ect...  I was just thinkin about gettin into 1.X

Thanks to anyone who can help me out with this.

Here's Darwin Kastle's version that made 2nd or 3rd at PT-Houston. From what I understand it is THE deck to beat in extended right now. I've never played it or seen it in action, so I can't help you in that area, but it looks like it controls the early game with discard effects and then clears the board with deed, leaving only the manlands and spiritmonger to finish the opponent. There's probably more insightful tech somewhere on the net.

It should be noted that Darwin Kastle´s version (the one shown here) is metagamed very heavily against control decks and might have unusually big (for the Rock) problems with aggressive decks like Sligh and Sucide.

If you want the deck to fare better against beatdown (not a bad idea after GP Reims where Sligh ran rampant) you should cut one Vampiric Tutor and 1-2 Cabal Therapies from the maindeck to add 1 Recurring Nightmare and at least one Spike Feeder or Ravenous Baloth.

Further lists can be found in the coverage for PT Houston or GP Reims on the sideboard.

Could anyone post a decklist for a version of The Rock that does well in a Sui/Sligh heavy metagame?

hello  fellow mana drain friend, here is a link to a thread on this very site.

Hoping it will help you playing and enjoying the rock .  Many versions are included in this post. Just pick the one you like or make a one of your own based on those that are there.
