Anyone got suggestions on playing, seal of cleansing count aura of silences, SB help anything to improve this matchup for the Parfait player? My arch enemy in magic always is bragging about his new trix deck. it is unpowered (so is my parfait) but it plays well.
Here is a breif of his deck
4 FoW
4 Impulse
2 Brainstorm
4 Donate
4 Illusions
2 Fire/Ice
2 Intuition
4 Ack Knowledge
4 Volcanic Islands
1 Mana Vault
1 Mana Crypt
1 Sol Ring
4 counterspells
4 Bolts

Its a U/r Trix type of deck that beats me 70% of the time. I just cant handle him!

Any suggestions on beating this type of trix deck with my parfait?

I run 2 aura of silences
1 seal

3 abolish SB

He just goes of withing first few turns and parfait, as slow as it is, just cant handle this!

Abeyance.
Orim's Chant.
Look, you have more turns to get set up.

Amazing you lose this much. Iīm not quite impressed with the decklist. I would say you have a decent game against this deck. He has got zero defense versus a Seal, Aura or Ivory Mask.
Maybe you should post your deck as well. if you play 4 Chants, as you should, they will be gold in this match up.

Just in case you don't know, the key to defeating the combo is to let illusions come into play, but while its CIP ability is still on the stack, respond by killing it with abolish, seal, whatever. The destruction resolves first, which triggers the illusion's leaves-play ability. This resolves, and your opponent is now down 20 life. This means that the game is over and you win, even though your opponent has 20 life waiting for him on the stack.

well since you asked I pretty much have the same decklist as everyone else on here except no power. I run 4 abeyance main deck which helps a little bit, thanks j_orlove, that makes sense, I never knew it had that kind of ruling.

Thanks

It isn't a specific ruling for Illusions.  That is the same "trick" that you use against a Dragon player.  They play dragon.  His CIP effect of "taking everything away" goes on the stack.  In response you STP it, his leaves play ability "return everything" goes on the stack.  So "return everything" happens before things get taken away.  After that is over everything he has goes away and doesn't come back

Dragon Player: "I would like to Obliterate myself now, if that is ok with you."

Parfait Player: "Well, I suppose so."

I would make it Abeyance ==> Orimīs Chant. It is good to be able to cast your protected spells one turn earlier.

I have to tell you about a Parfait matchup I had online recently with a mono blue fully powered Trix deck.

This is some funny shit...

So the game opens with him droping a library after I pitch a wasteland for a mox diamond and play a plain the first turn.  Not sure why I did that.

First think he is playing BBS after he mana leaks my scroll rack. Figure it out after he drops an illusions.  Well while he is doing this I am busy taxing and I get an ivory tower out.  I also drop an zorb. So after he drops the first illusions it's not that big of a deal as I am at 25.  He hands it over and I accept graciously.  I keep the upkeep going for a while as I don't really have much else to do and then he hands me another one.  Well after the first one I play another ivory tower and he doesn't coutner.  He has coutnered a couple of things I have tried, including trying to play a pony maker and even tring to find it agian that he misdirects to another enchantent.  So I have like out 7 plains by now so can keep the thing going.  I finally draw the other scroll rack and get it into play, I think I had to find it once.  I have already let the first Illusions go and took the 20, I have the second one at 6 upkeep and then loose it at 10 upkeep.  I am at like 50, I ask him if he wants to conceeds.  He says he has more counters then I have threats and thinks he can still win.  I cuckle. I take another 20, but still am alive and have my tax track going keepign me alive with the towers.  It's some funny shit and I can since him getting agry.  I dwindle his hand away from 7 cards, therefore negating the library for a while and after many spells I finally get his hand down to 1 card, I get a digger out and have a illuiisions at 6 upkeep and I think I have like 28 life.  I am betting he was planning to kill me with a stroke but as I have the digger out I don't know why he is still playing.

He finnally disconnects stating that he had a twister and was going to do it all again and I was stalling.  I guess he didn't like the fact that I had lived threw 3 illusions and was winning.
