Just about every friday night Jahinnies in Munhall holds T1 tournies. Its only 4 bucks for entry and we've been getting some good stuff recently. The Dungeon used to have tournies too, but the closed awhile ago.

Is there any sort of magic scene in the central(Altoona/State College) area of the state?  I've only started playing again recently and the huge majority of the players in this area(that I've encountered at least) seem to be fairly young in terms of how long they've been playing.  The card pool(again, at least what i've seen) is incredibly weak.  Did magic never hit this region big, or have I just been in the wrong place?  If anyone knows of good places to play in central PA I'd really like to know where--not necessarily only type 1.

Hey I'm here in Northeast PA and theres a couple of places here to play T1 but we get stuck mostly having to drive to Philly for some tournies. I do go out to Pittsburgh area sometimes so maybe I could take my cards and stop in next time

Redmage,

Parkway Center Mall runs Type I every friday as their 'Friday Night Magic'. If you dont know where that is, it is right through the Fort Pitt Tunnels, about 5 minutes outside of downtown Pittsburgh.

I've yet to make it there but I met the organizer at the Legions Prerelease and he said they get about 20 players. It's mostly younger people with 1.5/t2 (i hate to use the word scrubs Wink ) decks and maybe only 1 person has power, according to him.

The store I play at is open gaming, and i always have my type 1 decks and a few other players have type 1 but all unpowered. It is Scorched Earth Games in New Kensington. You can check their website here www.scorchedearthgames.com

Peace
Dan

Can anyone post a website with information reguarding places to play t1 in pennsylvania. First off i am near reading or King of Prussia and Philly is no problem. I know of grey matter and Dorian lvl 3 judge holds tourneys in my area MagicAdvisor.com but its mostly JSS T2 sealed and sometimes extended. Can't seem to find good t1 other then just lame Friday night magic.
