Hello, actually I'm looking for a good deck (fun to play) to go to a mensual t1 tourney here, but my problem is I have 500 - 600 $ to build my deck, and I was thinking... what deck can be good in a random meta (my metagame is very diverse) and fun to play? I'm thinking (because I like this decks) to play with a Parfait or a Nether Void deck. What deck do u choose, thinking on the money I have and in a very diverse meta?
Thanks.

Nether void is a good solid deck, Oath is also a good cheap deck in a random metagame.

Moved to the right forum.
Ankh Sligh seems to be the budget deck to beat lately, as well.

If you're interested in Ankh Sligh, check out my listing I used in Castricum yesterday. Basicly, even WITH the mox, you should be able to buy it easily for the cash you wanted. I guess it won't be all BB and foily, but it still works
I always enjoyed Nether Void, but you need a more developed (control?) meta for it to really shine. Parfait hates random metagames I think, if by random you mean "unconventional decktypes." You can gear parfait towards beating anything, you just have to make a good guess on what you'll be facing.

I'm with MoreFling. On the budget you listed, I think Parfait would be the perfect deck for you. Do a search on the forums for "Parfait" and "Great White Hype"
BUT, if you expect the MetaGame to be full of combo though... then I would go with AnkhSligh.

Quote (MoreFling @ Feb. 10 2003,09:20)I always enjoyed Nether Void, but you need a more developed (control?) meta for it to really shine. I would have to disagree with this. Void crushes pretty much all bad aggro decks and inherently hates combo decks with discard/LD and, of course, Nether Void itself. It does acceptably well vs Keeper, too. The only thing you have an irreparly bad matchup against would be TnT, because the deck just can't handle 2 or more early fat artifact men.

I'll back Exeter up on this, any workshop deck spells doom for Void, but it has no bad matchups out side of that. Using my exact build as an example:
Sligh: Void and Keg PRE-board wreck it, then you get Masticore and Spinning Darkness. It has almost no chance. Ankh Sligh is a little scarier, just make sure you are explosive enough to handle things like Ankh.
Keeper: I always split with Keeper over a long enough time frame. I remember playing like 10 games with Andrew (LoA here) and he took half, and I took half. It beats bad Keeper players in the nuts hard too, which makes up for like 90% of the Keeper players out there.
Gro: You do well with Kegs, Shades, Hippies, Voids and Duress's. After you take out Sinkholes and other misdirection fodder, you play Dystopia and Spinning Darkness (cant be misdirected to black creatures). This is a fairly even matchup.
Anyways, I'm not going to rewrite the primer here, but you get the picture.

For a random metagame I would swear by Gay Fish Check the primer for a list. It can beat many of the top decks and is always fun to play. Parfait is not fun to play. I would be happy to sell my parfait deck to anyone who wants it. You end up with more draws ... and it is so exhausting.

Parfait is the best deck in the metagame given your budget. It has fairly good matchups with just about everything out there right now. You could pick up the entire deck for right in your budget range.

I think that a parfait would probibly serve you really well... as long as you can learn how to play with time frames, as time can be called on this deck alot.
Also, here is a G/W Squirel Craft deck that could fit nicely in your budget:
Green:(26) Argothian Enchantress: 4 Enchantress's Presence: 2 Squirel's Nest: 4 Earthcraft: 4 Sylvan Library: 4 Abundance: 2 Eledamri's Vineyard/ Wild Growth: 4 Fastbond: R Regrowth: R
White:(5) Enlightened Tutor: R Replenish: 2 Worship: 1 Seal of Cleansing: 1
Gold:(4) Sterling Grove: 4
Mana:(25) Black Lotus: R Mox Emerald: R Mox Pearl: R Sol Ring: R Windswept Heath: 4 Savvanah: 4 Forest: 11 Plains: 2
Sideboard:(15) Orim's Chant/ Abeyance: 4 City of Solitude: 3 Replenish: 2 Worship: 1 Cop Red: 1 Compost: 3 Tormod's Crypt: 1
Really the SB is up to you, but control and mono black are probibly the worst marchups.
The lotus is the biggest chunk of change in the deck, and it is certainly easy enough to work around!
Good luck, and I hope that you are able to get some good deals online, or in trade to make your monies stretch far!
