I've been playing mtg about 8 years, and I never posted any reports so please forgive me for sloppy mistakes. I lost my notes so I'm writing from memory...
"ABM with a twist"
MANA:19 2 City of Brass 2 Gemstone Mine 2 Undiscovered Paradise 5 Plains 4 Island 1 Swamp R Strip Mine R Sol Ring R Mox Diamond ENGINE:11 4 Land Tax 4 Scroll Rack 2 Zuran Orb 1 Trade Routes BEATS:7 2 Whirlpool Warrior 2 Mystic Enforcer 2 Devout Witness 1 Gorilla Shaman BOARD CONTROL:13 4 Force of Will 1 Misdirection 1 Fire/Ice 1 Swords to Plowshares 1 Diabolic Edict R Balance 3 Psionic Blast 1 Back to Basics TUTORS:4 R Demonic Tutor R Vampiric Tutor R Mystical Tutor 1 Merchants Scroll STUFF:6 R Yawgmoth's Will R Timetwister R Regrowth 1 Ivory Tower 1 Chains of Memphistoteles 1 Tormod's Crypt
Sideboard:15 1 Ivory Tower 1 Chains of Memphistoteles 2 Propaganda 2 Back to Basics 2 Extract 1 Misdirection 1 Words of Worship 1 Zur's Wierding 1 Seal of Cleansing 1 Cop. Red 1 Black Vise
I have to explain some cards: Psionic Blast: I traded my Meddling Mages some time ago, and I couldn't borrow them so I had to get something to replace them. Actually they were great in this deck, nobody expect them '' Chains of Memph: This metagame is (usually) focused to control, so MD Chains is good call, and I knew there would be atleast 4 combo decks coming so... SideBoard: Words of Worship: Combo with Zur's Wierding, and surpricenly good against aggro...
OK, to the raport...
1.st round Tornikoski playing PandeBurst I go first and play first turn T.Crypt, 3rd and 4th turn Devout Witnesses. He cant combo me out before I kill him with Witnesses. I side +1 Zur's wierding 2 Extract 1 Seal of Cleansing 1 Chains of Memphistoteles - 1 Swords 1 Fire 1 Balance 1 ZOrb 1 Merchant's Scroll Second game was quickly over; he used Attunement few times, get 2 Bursts and Pandemonium in graveyard, and play Intuition for Replenish, gives a turn, he scoops short after when I remove his graveyard with T.Crypt.
1-0 2-0
2nd Round Lyytikäinen R/G beats His deck is too fast, because I'm stupid enough to activate his Hidden Gibbons when I get rid of his Fanatic. Oh well, I deserve to lost... I side +2 Propaganda 1 Ivory Tower 1 Words of Worship, -1 Chains 1 B2B 1 T.Crypt 1Trade Routes In a second game I play fast Propaganda that keeps him at bay because he is manascrewd. When he draws enough lands to attack with his horde, I ZOrb-Balance all lands and creatures. He scoops on a Enforcer 2 turns later... 3rd game I got 3rd turn Propaganda, he plays Mogg Fanatic and Recless Charge it (16). I play 4th turn second Propaganda, he plays another Recless Charge on Fanatic(12) and Pup. I'm at low mana, so I topdeck Land Tax. He attacks with his Pup(10). I get some land and topdeck Ivory Tower, This is looking pretty good on me, but... He attacks his Pup(8), Incinerate me(5), Fanatics me (4) and kills me with Fireblast(0). ''
1-1 3-2
3rd round Niinistö U/Rphidian This was most boring matchup in tournament. I keeped hand containing Gemstone Mine,Plains,Land Tax and Scroll Rack. My Land Tax was counttered and my lands Stripped and Wasted. Scoop... Second game manascrew...
1-2 3-4
4th round Virkkula Pox 1st turn Scroll Rack, second turn Land Tax, he Poxes, I shoot 3 Psi-Blast at him, he dies. 2nd game quite similar, exept I played Mystic Enforcer after Pox...
2-2 5-4
5th round Muroke ProsBloom This was easy matchup, I countered all card rawings, He takes like 17 damages his Mana Crypt and City, I kill him with Psi-Blast... I saw his sideboard before tournament so I knew he sided 4 Negators and 4 Juggernauts, so I left removal in... In second game he plays 1st turn Negator, witch I counter, I play land go for 3 turns, he plays 2nd turn Negator, I Psi-Blast it and he chooses to leave it as a only permanent, He scoops when I play Enforcer and tutor ZOrb.
3-2 7-4
In final standings I was 9th with tiebrakers...
Props: Rozetta- for winning the Tournament Preatcher- for been second NaClhv- for amazing deck
slops just for me for stupid mistakes against R/G
Yours,
