I really liked Zvi's extended Turboland deck alot and I've always liked control decks. I'm trying to come up with a deck that's a non-turbo version of that deck. Keeping the same Oath/Scrounger engine but adding enough control to, hmm, make me happy I guess Wink

This is like draft 1.1 of the deck so it's kind of rough. It's also a tad slow to really call a combo deck. I think the sideboards pretty nice, very wishable, and transformable to a much more standard control deck. Might be some better choices though.

Anyway let me know what you think.

It's intended to dump the entire library into the graveyard and then recur a combination of Time Walk, Ancestral Recall, and Time Warp/Regrowth and take infinite turns. Obviously the second Oathing needs two creatures out which isn't going to happen against some decks. Hence the Living Wish to get an alternate win condition and all of the control maindeck.

Recuring the Ancestral allows you to put out additonal lands while still taking infinite turns and lowers the count on the extra turn cards you need to run. It seems to accomplish the same thing as the turbo version but at a bit slower pace while running alot more control.

Been considering trying to work a Mirari/Tinker in but not sure it's necessary at this point. Also considering several main deck Moment's Peaces which I do think it needs.

Scrounger serves as a pretty good win condition even if you can only Oath once (or hard cast it) since he recurs your spells and becomes a 6/6.

Sideboard options I think are pretty tight. Leaving the Enlightened Tutor always in the sideboard allows you 3 chances to draw your sideboarded enchantments second and third game. Also allows you to, in effect, wish for an enchantment (Oath) for 1 less mana then Golden Wish but does cost you a draw. Gilded Drake's I've liked since Urza's came out and being able to Living Wish for 1 against Mask or reanimate I think is pretty strong. Reclaim and Whispers are there in case something happens to your maindeck Ancestral or Regrowth and, being cheap to cast, can get used pretty effectively after a Cunning Wish.

Invulnerability lets me wish for something against Mask/big burn since it can effectively nullify any single creature or spell and is re-useable. The rest of the stuff is pretty standard and including the Response, Morphling, etc.. main deck in the second/third games turns it into a more standard control deck of course.
