Hi there all. I have a question to those experianced T1 players. Having aquired a few pieces of power, and having the cash to get some expenisive cards and build a deck, where should i look to. I want to move out of the budget decks, and into the next step. Would a deck Like Void be a good next step? any suggestions on my next deck to build would be highly appreciated. I would like to make the move from being a Quasi T1 nube playing U/R Goblins to a Competitive player in my local metagame, that includes total no power rogue nubes, all the ways to pro's with fully powered decks. Thanks

I did a little research on my own. It appears that Nether Void, Parfait, or possibly suicide. I dont really like sui i have played it before, with a mox, no lotus(didnt have one) and it never really performed well. Ive played several builds, but i do have a friend that playes a R/B Bloddy Suicide that works okay.

Would appreciate a smidge of info from one of u really expericanced persons.

What power do you have?  If you have ancestral and time walk GAT would be a giant leap forward.

Yes, GAT = Grow-a-Tog. Also, most mono-black variants like Void, Chalice Black, etc. are still considered budget decks, as they only use 2 pieces of power. How much power do you have, exactly? If you have all of it, then Long would be a good choice. Dragon would also be a good choice. If you have access to Workshops, then wMUD, and if you have Illusionary Masks, then Tainted Mask or a variant thereof would be good. Chalice Keeper is also an excellent choice. That about covers the current Tier 1 decks, I think. You can search for decklists to compare playstyles and required power to determine which best fits your needs.

Hulk/GAT is a extremely fun and winning deck, i would go for that. Otherwise, choose Long or a control deck.. Dragon gets very little from power, so that could just as well be build as power.

I would choose GAT if i had power.

It would really be helpfull if we knew what power you have/is getting. If you only have Walk/Recall Hulk would be a good deck.
If I were to make a new deck I think I would go wMUD. It also depends on your meta.

It would also be nice to know what type of player you are. Like Control, Aggro, In-for-the-win...etc.

Thanks so much guys. Generally i have 2-3 pieces of power at a time, depending on what i need. However presently i have a chunk of cash and am gearing up to build a new deck. I would like control, because before 2T became extreemly gay i would play ZevTog and have a good time with that.

So Void it no longer a good deck. It looks kinda cool?

Void is more of a metagame deck than anything. I don't think you would be happy with it in a very diverse meta (One with a lot of scrub aggro).

By reading your comments it seems that you not only want to have a winning deck, but a fun to play deck as well. Long, Dragon, and WelderMUD are great if you only care about winning, but they are not really fun decks to play. Unless of course you equate winning with fun. If you are looking for a fun deck that can hold up against random aggro and control. I would play Ninja Mask. It has the ability to dominate most Aggro, it is a difficult match for control, and it can adjust easily to compete with Dragon and Rector based combo. If you don't know what the deck is you can search the Mana Drain for Ninja Mask or Vengeur Masque and you should get some decklists.

You got it absoultly right, i want to be competitive, and yet still have a deck that is interesting to play. I will look into the decks you suggested. thanks very much

Fish is an excellent choice for a semi-powered deck that is quite competitive. Gayr is probably the way to go

I am going to shill my GAT thread.  Go here  for excellent commentary, decklists, and single card debate.  Note that many of the creators/optimizers of the GAT archetype comment here.  I was fortunate enough to catch their eye.
