decklist

Mana

4 Ancient Tomb (no workshops)
4 GlimmerVoid
4 Volcanic Island
3 Seat of the Synod
1 Tolarian Academy
1 Grim Monolith
1 Mana Vault
1 Mana Crypt
1 Sol Ring
5 Moxen
1 Lotus Petal (No Lotus)

Creatures

4 Goblin Welder
4 Metal Worker
3 Masticore
1 Bosh, Iron Golem
1 Triskellion

Cheats

1 Wheel of Fortune
1 Memory Jar
1 Voltaic Key
1 Timetwister
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Tinker

Control Parts

3 Chalice of the Void
1 Mindslayer
4 Force of Will

Draw

4 Thoughtcast
3 Thirst for Knowledge

As I have said before I do not own Mishra's Workshops so I have opted to use Ancient Tomb instead.  Same goes for the Black Lotus and Lotus Petal.

I came up with the idea of taking the power of artifact mana and crushing my creature based metagame with it.  This is what I have come up with.

Creature Discussion

Masticore is the focus of the deck in that he can single handedly wreck a creature deck by himself.  I run Bosh over Karn because of the fact that I want to throw Damage around at all of the stupid creatures I see at the weekly tournament.  He is also a great finisher with his trample and ability to throw himself at the dome.  Triskellion is included for the same reason.

Control Parts

Chalice and FOW are there to slow down the opponent so that they cannot play anything I don't want them to.  I have been considering running Sphere of Resistance over the Force of Will but this deck is deadly afraid of Pernicious Deed and Nevie's Disk.  Let me know which card you guys think is best???  Mindslayer is a game winner with Goblin Welders so thats why it is in there.

Draw

Mirrodin has given us some fun blue card draw to play with.  Thirst for Knowledge is awesome in this deck as well as thoughtcast which almost always reads U-Draw 2 Cards.

So let me know if this deck seems good (remember that I play in a heavy creature/lightly powered area) and what if any changes should be made.

Just a few things.

1 - looking over the decklist, i am sure that i will not have as good a feel for how it plays as you already do, so i think only you can make the tune-up adjustments..

2 - replacing mishras for tomb works pretty well...you might find that 4 causes a bit too much damage, but i dont know playtest it.

3 - replacing black lotus for lotus petal doesn't make sense.  the cards look similar and function similarly, but their mana production abilities gives them totally different purposes which make them good in opposite types of decks.  lotus is of course good in any deck, but its best in decks that need large mana fast.  the petal is good in super speedy combo decks.  looking over your decklist, i think that more often than not you'll end up playing it and not playing any other card, because youre waiting to get out metalworker, or something.  so i think either sky diamond or thran dynamo would replace it better.

4 - try broodstar?

5 - what is "mindslayer"?  not on crystalkeep

I think adding one or two City of Traitors might be a good option.  You don't really want to draw one too early but it provides some alternative if you are low on health, late game and you can't use Ancient Tombs.  I think he means MindSlaver.  Mirrodin Legendary Artifact.

Yea it is Mindslaver, for some reason I thought the card was called Mindslayer. I totally forgot about City of Traitors.  That would be a nice addition in a 2 of maybe.  Maybe I will try dropping a Tomb and the Petal for 2 of them.  Thanx for the input.
