This is a recent concoction of mine but isnt nearly fast enough. Originally wanted to add blue, but I wasn't sure what things to add from that color, so I kept it BG. Feel free to add blue, if needed. Here's the list: 4 Aluren 4 Cavern Harpy 4 Wirewood Savage 4 Llanowar Elves 4 Birds of Paradise 4 Tendrils 1 Demonic Tutor 1 Vampiric Tutor 4 Worldly Tutor 4 Duress 1 Cabal Therapy 4 Bayou 4 Llanowar Wastes 4 Windswept Heath 4 Wooded Foothills 4 Forest 4 Swamp 1 Lotus Petal The deck needs a lot of work. Any help would be appreciated, but if possible, please keep the number of duals to a minimum.

Try taking out a couple of tendrills. You dont need so many. When I played my aluren deck I played living wish. It works so well. You can play cards like Monk Idealist, Monk Realist, Ukatbia Orangutang and other stuff that can really save your ass. It also works really well if you put a cavern harpy and a wirewood savage into your sideboard. I don't know if this will help you or not but its worth a try. Actually my win condition was a whole lot different then yours. I played soul wardens (whenever a creature comes into play under your control u gain 1 life). This worked really well with the cavern harpys. My win though was a magot carrier. I would keep returning it for cavern harpys gading cost then replay for free because of aluren. I would gain 1 life when it would come into play and they would lose 1 over and over again. Hope I helped.

Look for a budget Aluren decklist in the thread pinned at the top of this forum. It should give you some ideas. Or just look here.\n\n

Your approach is fine, but if you want the STYLE points (and when it all boils down, thats all thats important), you should toss in city of solitude and ovinomancer. hehe.... sheep tokens kick ass....

Brain Freeze is such a better kill card than Tendrils. I think you should run blue for Brain Freeze, Force of Will, and Impulse/Brainstorm. Having a combo deck running Duress and Force of Will is some good I hear

This is the new UG version I came up with, adding black could make it faster, but more inconsistent, and very risky for me due to my lack of duals. here's my current list which can get a second turn win with a good draw and third turn with a decent one. Furthermore this deck is very affordable at less than $100!! 4 Aluren 4 Llanowar Elves (Should be bop) 3 Fyndhorn Elves 4 Brain Freeze 4 Cavern Harpy 4 Wirewood Savage 4 Wordly Tutor 3 Raven Familiar 1 Soul Warden 4 Brainstorm 3 Intuition (Extremely important to find the Aluren) 4 Hickory Woodlot 4 Yavimaya Coast 1 Lotus Petal 1 Mana Vault 7 Forest 5 Island
Explanations: 1. I find 4 Brain Storms are fine because they allow you to go off w/out Savage or Raven, cause you can just replay the Harpy thirty times and deck them. You can also play them against something like Academy which plays a million spells in one turn, so you can use their spells to fuel your storm, before they can win! 2. The Coasts should obviously be Tropical Islands but they would cost me fifteen bucks a shot, double of the Coasts. Another thing to consider would be the blue equivalent of Hickory Woodlot, yet the double blue would probably not be that useful very often, except for a second turn Intuition. Your thoughts?

If Yavimaya coasts cost half of what Tropical Island costs for you, don't buy 4 Coasts. You would be better off buying 1 Tropical Island and 3 Fetchlands.. and eventually when you get more duals you will have cards that are not obsolete.

You could replace 4 of the elves with 4 Urborg elves since they provide all the colors you need anyway.
