Well, I entered another Magic-League Type 1 Tournament today (I am Jenneke there), with around 52 people. I loaded up the gayness:
MD: 9x Island 4x Faerie Conclave 4x Mishra's Factory 4x Wasteland 1x Strip Mine 1x Mox Sapphire
4x Flying Men 4x Cloud of Faeries 4x Rootwater Thief 3x Waterfront Bouncer 3x Gilded Drake
4x Force of Will 4x Standstill 4x Curiosity 3x Null Rod 2x Misdirection 1x Time Walk 1x Ancestral Recall
SB: 3x Energy Flux 3x Maze of Ith 2x Suq-Ata Firewalker 2x Blue Elemental Blast 2x Chill 1x Null Rod 1x Waterfront Bouncer 1x Stifle
Round 1: Isochron Scepterish deck played by necian
Game 1: He plays a bunch of artifact lands, but I play a Null Rod. He concedes.
Game 2: I begin to set up my board position, setting up a Waterfront Bouncer defense with a Gilded Drake in my hand because from the first game it seemed like he was playing some sort of Affinity. He drops an Isochron Scepter with an Orim's Chant on it though, and I boarded out my Misdirections so I have no chance of breaking the lock, and I scoop this time.
Game 3: I deny him mana in the early game via Wastelands, and then I drop Energy Flux and a Null Rod shortly afterwards. That's pretty much game...
Round 2: Miracle-Gro played by Wiewor
Game 1: He mulligans down to 4, but manages to get past all my defenses with 3 Dazes protecting the two Werebears he drops with Threshold. I never see a Waterfront Bouncer, and he manages to kill me.
Game 2: He allows me to get ahead of him tempowise by using two Dazes in sucessive turns to stop me from playing a Standstill and then a Rootwater Thief. By this time I have two Wastelands which prevent him from playing anything as he never gets a third land. I beat him down with Manlands.
Game 3: This time I draw 3 Wastelands, but he finds two Moxen. Sometime in the middle of the game I get the Waterfront Bouncer-Gilded Drake combo on him, and I proceed to win.
Round 3: Rectal Agony played by z0|dRuL3z
Game 1: I put up a very strong fight and force him to use his first Tendrils before he can kill me because he is too low on life to use his Bargain. But next turn he is able to go off...
Game 2: I Wasteland away his black sources and he is left with a lot of colorless artifact sources. I am able to beat down for the win here.
Game 3: Well, in his time zone it was much later than it is now. He makes a bunch of play errors here because of that... after Tutoring for a Yawgmoth's bargain, instead of tapping his Tolarian Academy for 2, then sacrificing his Black Lotus, then tapping his Mox, he sacrifices the Lotus first and cannot play his Bargain. He is forced to play a Necropotence, and then forgets that I have a Faerie Conclave out and can deal 3 damage. So he Necro's down to 2 and I win. He realized his mistake afterwards though, but he was a very good sport
Round 4: IsoKeeper played by (blanking out)
Game 1: He gets down a 3rd turn Isochron Scepter with a Counterspell, but he doesn't have enough untapped to counter either of the two Rootwater Thieves I drop next turn. I remove all of his win conditions the following turn.
Game 2: He drops a very early Isochron Scepter with... Mystical Tutor. I drop a Null Rod, and then a Rootwater Thief. I again remove all of his win conditions which he had failed to draw, and end the game shortly after.
Round 5: Bye.
This is the Top 3, and I'm lucky enough to get a bye.
Round 6: Italian Tendrils played by Negator88
Before I describe the games, I want to talk about this deck. It's cool. Really cool. This tournament was post bannings, but this deck still managed to be incredibly broken. It was, of course, a lot slower, but it was still crazy cool.
Game 1: He spends a few turns building up his power and Duressing away my Force of Will until he gets a Bargain into play and Storm's up a win.
Game 2: I make one crucial play error here, instead of going Ancestral Recall - Time Walk I just drop my Energy Flux (this is after he has a lot of artifacts on the board). I realized what I should've done just after I dropped the Energy Flux, but it was too late. Fortunatley I won anyway though, as after he Bargained himself to 1 and Memory Jared, I Force of Willed his Wheel of Fortune and had a creature on the board for the win.
Game 3: After Duressing away my Force he plays with himself for a bit, getting a turn 2 or 3 kill (I'm a bit too traumatized to recall exactly when).
So for 2nd place I get 1500 Sharkshares.... which is about enough for 1 booster pack on Cardshark.com. Wow. 1 whole booster pack. That's 15 shiny, new, cards....
