Hi,

I am playing the nethervoid build listed here on the Manadrain from the article by Zherbus(see deck list at bottom). I own everything but the power and I am having some mixed results with the deck. Is the power really needed to make this deck work?? Or am I just playing wrong ? I tried to put some accelaration in by exchanging 1 wasteland for a petal or diamond but both don't really seem to work.

My Metagame is very mixed with almost no power (so stuff ranging from t2 cleric to keeper)
And also a low on duals(that's why I am doubting on the wastelands).
Maybe you guys could give me some tips on playing style (aggressive etc.)
And the advice about (maybe) purchasing power for the deck or not.

thx in advance for your help.

If your meta has almost no power then you can probably get away with powerless void however, i do see a Red Flag. Void usually dosent perform very well in an overly scrubblish enviornment if you dont have power and speed. Perhaps, Chalice black(a similar deck that can be found in the vintage fourm) fish, ankh or goobo sligh would be a better choice. If you want to play void I would strongly suggest B/G. Pernicious deed is much more effective at dealing with threats and perminants quickly.

Having played unpowered Void in a scrubby metagame many times, B/G is most definitely superior to the mono-black version in this environment.  Pernicious Deed is pure gold, as popping a deed for 2 or 3 will often be game against many decks running a million 1CC creatures, or for annoying token decks or something.  Additionally, you can do neat things with Naturalize, which is always handy.  Good luck.

Thx for the help guys
I was thinking about running b/g for the deeds and naturalize.
Would regrowth be viable to play when you play b/g??

Since most of your stuff comes in fours it probably wouldn't be that needed.   If you start diversifying your decklist some more, or add more restricted cards, regrowth would start looking better.
