It won't let me start a post in the tournament report section (just because someone is new to a website means they are inferior?)
Pretty pathetic, only 6 showed up for today (sunday).
Annoying sound effect/pop culture quote guy: BG Void Older guy with bandana: Suicide black Friend i went with: Sligh Another friend: Keeper Me: Fish Shaved head guy: TnT
All the decks were powered out except mine and the sligh player, who was running a lone mox ruby.
Just some comments on the games: The TnT deck was the best there, very well made. This was my first time using Fish in a tournament setting and I like it. Very flexible, fun, cheap, etc. List I ended up running:
4 Lord of Atlantis (got rid of ugly white bordered one finally at starcitygames booth for black bordered japanese ones) 4 Cloud of Faeries 4 Manta Riders 4 Rootwater Thief
4 Standstill 4 Curiosity 4 Force of Will 3 Misdirection 3 Null Rod 2 Stifle 1 Psionic Blast
10 Island 4 Wasteland 4 Mishra's Factory 4 Faerie Conclave 1 Strip Mine
SB: 4 Hydroblast 2 Chill 2 Tormod's Crypt 2 Maze of Ith (all I cound get together) 2 Hurkyl's Recall 3 Energy Flux

Hey Onslaught, Its not that people new to the site are inferior. TMD has levels, take a look around, first you show that you have something to add to the community down here in newbieville. It keeps the site in good shape and makes the mods job easier. Take a look at the extreme vintage forum if you want to see some tight regulations.
Pat (TracerBullet) Void Me (Shawn) Sui--- Damn he called me old Sean (?) Sligh ?? Keeper Andre{sp?} (?) TnT
Deck List; Sui 4x Phyrexian Negator 4x Flesh Reaver 4x Hypnotic Specter 4x Nantuko Shade 4x Duress 4x Hymn to Tourach 4x Sinkhole 4x Dark Ritual 2x Diabolic Edict 1x Demonic Tutor 1x Yawgmoth's Will 1x Black Lotus 1x Mox Jet 3x Wasteland 1x Strip Mine 2x Lake of the Dead 16x Swamp S/B 3x Powder Keg 3x Tormod's Crypt 3x Null Rod 2x Diabolic Edict Friday 2x Drain Life, 2x Chalice of the Void Sunday 2x Chalice of the Void, 2x Ebony Charm
Friday we had 11 people. Sorry no notes, I was on vacation.
1st Match - I went 2/0 2nd Match - 2/0 3rd Match - Dragon 2/0 - Both games Him - 1st turn Bazaar, Me - Wasteland. 4th Match - TnT 1/2 - Bad mana on the 1st and 3rd games but his deck just rolls me like a $2 crack whore.
2nd place, Split with Andre, 12 Mirrodin packs, 1 Italian Legends ea.
Saturday 6 people
1st Match - Fish 2/0 Flippers and Faries can't deal with Negators and Disruption. 2nd Match - TnT 1/2 Same player and deck from Friday, same results. 3rd Match - Sligh 1/2 (ID) ummm Burn, Scrolls and Lavamancers love it when Negators are around.
3rd place Top 4 Split 4 Mirrodin packs, 1 Italian Legends pack ea.
Great people and fun times. No one was stressed and the games were casual and full of joking and fun.
This build has taken 3rd at a 48 person 5 proxy, 2nd at a 11 person sanctioned, 3rd (with ID) at a six person want to be sanctioned.

Quote Annoying sound effect/pop culture quote guy: BG Void
BEST QUOTE EVER I was there for the Friday and Saturday tourneys. I was a little disappointed with the turnout, but everyone that did show was great.

As Gio said, I'm an ass.
Errm...The players at the tournies were pretty cool overall. The big problem was the turnout. That probably had something to do with the fact that it was $20 a day if you went (plus an additional $6 for the actual tournement), the fact that they started way too early for tournements to start, the fact that they took place during many college's finals weeks, and the fact that there's generally a low overall interest in T1 in SoCal (low Magic interest for that matter). I told Guptil before hand if he wanted a good turnout, all he had to do was let me make the price/prize structure, but did he listen...?
But I digress.
Yeah, I'm the asshole with B/g Void. I took 3rd on Saturday (out of like 16), and 1st on Sunday (out of Six). Highlights included-
Opening of Swamp, 4 (yes, that's four, the number after three) Rituals, Consult, Void, with Duress off the top. I Ritual, Duress (seeing two Cunning Wishes- I end up taking a Stifle), Consult for Hyppie, Ritual, Ritual, Ritual, play Hippie, play Void.
Sadly, I lost that game. He had gone first with Lotus, Ancestral, Land, Sol. Going first, I easily would have won.
Either way, it was fun. Like I said, all the guys were cool, and it was fun to get the occasional non-SoCal T1 guy to play against (got a few in against MikeyP, put the beatdown on his eight month old Keeper build).

Mage of Dreams forgot to give me my props since I did some hard core campaigning to get his butt in to Fridays game after he didn't here the last call for signups, and he goes on to take second. Oh and and for me listening to his advises that there shouldn't be any Mudd there and changing my sideboard.
Anyways I played Friday, Played The Grand Prix Saturday and over slept Sunday.
Me Keeper 3 CoV 1 Scepter
Round 1- vs Akuma with mudd 1-1-1 Draw
This was really a lose but he couldn't find a kill in game 3 before time ran out.
Round 2 TnT from Saturday.
Worse game I ever played.... (skill wise on my part)
I've got super broken stuff going left and right, but with my luck i don't have any enchantment removal in my sideboard for his survival (don't screw with your sideboard before), and didn't get my coffin purge for his squee. But I’m so broken I kill everyone of his creatures in his deck, and then deck my self right when time is called. He was smart and nuked all my white mana so i could only cycle my decree and not hard cast it for angels.
Round 3 playing and Black Vise Copy Artifact/ burn deck.
I look at my hand a like the fact I have first turn Ancestral, but he drops first turn vise. I was going to force, but say screw it. and at 3 cards decided to put the ancestral on a stick, get all excited about using it. And he drops a copy artifact on the Vise. and the Wheels. I take some serious damage. At 7 life say screw this and make 4 angles. he was mana screwed for a few turns (i even countered a lotus to stop him from doing anything.) Game 2 if get an impulse on a stick and finding all the things I need isn't hard. and a CoV for 1 keeps his vise off the table.
Round 4 vs a Plagiarize.dec with Urza rages
I win both of these games since I wouldn't let him cast Plagiarize and giving me new hands of 7 cards isn't the best idea. I guess he was 1 mana short one game of first turn plagiarize/wind of change, with force back up but it didn't happen.
So end up 2-1-1 and 5th on tie breakers behind Akuma. lt was a blast and as always the Type 1 players are the best. Plus i was able to trade for another Lotus and Beta Recall for a bunch of stuff i didn't need, so that was very nice.
Another cool twist at gen con. they were handing out 1 Italian Legands packs to anyone who won a prize. so People were having fun busting those open.
