Well, how many pieces of power have you won as the result of playing a tourney (and doing well) ? I´m currently at three: Ruby, Jet, Jet

1) Ancestral Recall. My first big W was a home game at a Hadley tourney. I beat ChrisK in the finals playing the role of the bane of his existence.
2) Ancestral Recall. In the midst of playing with "Your Mother", I completely psych out teamate Ben Kowal (Summen...) in Concord, NH
3) Mox Pearl. A moral victory, I lose to Andy Stoke in the Hulk mirror. Luckily Ray(Waterbury) was running moxen for both finalists. It was my first time with the deck; he boarded up to four Deep Analysis.
4) Time Walk. My favorite, everyone was trying to get me to split, but I say screw it and beat workshops with GAT in Lincoln, RI
*) Mox Pearl. I was about to set up Yawgmoth's Will for the tourney win in Milford, CT when I get distracted, and flip over 6 cards while casting lim-dul's vault. A tough judging call later and I'm going home with a frickin' foil serra angel!

I've never even been to a power tourney, they seem to be a strictly US thing. :o( ... I've won a gazillion boosters though - which I have sold and then purchased power. And I've gotten $600 total from various PTQ finals money splits which have also helped to finance my favorite format ;o)

See, this is one reason why I think T1 is waaay more avanced on the East Coast than the West Coast. People actually have a realistic shot of picking up some pieces of power for a mere entrance fee, which is a huge foothold in the world of Magic. Out here, you have to start from square 1 with no help at all, or you'd have to dabble into Extended and/or T2 to get any form of prizes. I once briefly mentioned the idea of having a "Mox tournament" at one of the stores I go to, and everyone started laughing as if it was the most ludicrous thing they've ever heard. Number of power won at tournaments : 0

Not to stroke my cock and all, but it all started back on BD when I advertised a proxy tournament with a Ruby as the prize. Everyone else sort of fell into line after that in regards to proxy'ing (though they improved on it by making it 5 of any card). You could always do the same thing - all it takes is putting one mox up out of pocket, then the rest will fall into place.
