Here is a very well written article about playing Magic:

http://www.starcitygames.com/php/news/expandnews.php?Article=6596

I have always liked Flores' work, but this is above and beyond his recent stuff.  I mean, even Flores can't write a "Who's the Beatdown" every time.  But I think this is really good.  Comments, questions, requests for Steve to write a similar article, with more details on playtesting, for Type 1?

Agreed, though I can't help but wonder if it isn't saying anything Wakefield's "error die" column didn't.

That article has always been one of my favourites.  I was wondering if any of the mods would be up to the idea of compiling a 'Articles to read thread'.  Like say, create a thread in the T1 closed forums so it won't be spammed, and tell people not to reply in the thread itself.  Then in the thread post any links to great articles that are the 'All T1 players should read this' type of stuff.  I don't think everyone has spent a bit of their spare time reading all the great articles out there and perhaps some like myself have missed a couple.  Anyway I think it would be a great thing to have for people to just go and read when they aren't posting or something.  It would also be an excellent way to spark discussions on some of the more high-level things in MtG.  I don't mean the endless CA battle, I am more reffering to things like 'Mox Monkey of Goblin Vandal?'  Ok that's not to great of an example but if I could think of a real one I would actually post it.  So anyone up to it?  I'm assuming Zherbus' schedule is kinda packed...

Excellent article. His analysis of mistakes has definitely made me reconsider the games I'll win in the future.

It inspired me I admit.  I could write a piece on playtesting for type one - but my next article is on Trinisphere.  And beyond that I'd like to continue the Matchup Series.

I like the matchup series, continue with them Wink

It is a great article, it surely gives you something to think about. I know i will consider all my plays twice now - it might give the extra edge.
