Alright guys, I got some good news for ya-
Mike, from Strategy Products (the guys at Franks who we had to run the tournie through previously) has just opened a new store in La Mirada. He's willing to let us run whatever kind of tourney we want, with whatever prize breakdown we want to do, and however late we want, whenever we want. This means no more 5pm end time, no more 5 rounds for 44 people, and we'll even have time to do a full Top4/Top8 should we choose to. His store can hold 40 comfortably, up to about 50 if we're crammed, and up to about 60 if people don't mind floor space.
This means I'm going to be running our next power tourney (it'll likely be a Time Walk, but that's still up in the air) near the middle of March, and I need to know what you guys think.
I need to know two things from you- what day of the week works best for you, and once we have a day, what weekend works best for you. I'm going to limit the tournies to a weekend simply because too many people are coming in from far places to really try and have it on a weekday. Additionally, though I would prefer to avoid a scheduling conflict with Scott's tournies on Saturdays at Franks, we're gonna pick whichever day works best for most people.
Please vote in the polls for the actual DATE that works best for you, and let me know by posting what DAY works best for you- and please, don't vote twice (this poll and the one in the Tourney forums).

Id prefer satuday the 15th. Im free any of the days, but I like having sundays be nothing. But it is nice to get a big place with all the time we need, so thats good. Whichever day works best for other people will probably be fine with me.

Saturdays work best for me. The next best would be Friday but that would be hard on those traveling so thats no good. Sunday is a no go as I go back on the road on Sundays. This is a much better option for larger tourneys due to the time limit, seating, etc. For those that aren't in the know, THE T1 tourneys will be the ones Pat (TracerBullet) is holding. As far as smaller regular weekly get togethers Scott's might work for now, but I can see Gem's (Mike's store in La Mirada) getting organized also for weekly small tourneys/playtesting. Having to deal with Scott is just about unbearable for me personally. Here's the store info: Gems 14934 Leffingwell La Mirada, Ca 562-941-1403 MAPAlso of note I'm setting up a Yahoo Group for the West Coast Players, so we can start to get a bit organized and all. If you live out here and would like to join PM me here and I'll get you added. Go Pat!! The West is the Best Shawn

Yeah, I just realized the dates are wrong. Each date should be minus two days, so it's Saturday the 6th Sunday the 7th Saturday the 13th Sunday the 14th Saturday the 20th Sunday the 21st
Please note this and post if this will change your vote.
My apologies to all (that's what happens when I look at my desk calander instead of my computer calander).

Alright, it's starting to look near universal that people want to do it on Saturday, the 13th. I'm two phone calls from making it that day for certain, I'll keep you guys updated.
Additionally, I'm searching for a decent piece of power to put up, preferably power blue or a decent Mox. Let me know if you've got something in mind.

Almost as far as Frank and Sons., but with luck i might make it to play. Hell if anything, with all these new T1 tournments I should get to play in one of them, some day. I would love for a sunday game, but saturday is fine.
what kind of entry fee for the power? proxies?

Saturday the 13th sounds good, Pat. The weekend before (7-8), I have guard, but anything after that is fine. --BRI

It'll likely be a ~12-1 start time, and obviously depending on what piece of power, in the 10-15$ entry fee. Unless everybody has strong objections, we're also talking 5 proxies. The only reason these aren't set yet, I haven't talked to Mike. I couldn't get him on the phone yesterday. As soon as we're official, I'll let you guys know.

Allow 10 proxies if you have to.
Everyone should be allowed to play a competitive deck. Then, as we have these tourneys, people can earn the power cards by winning them.
