The deck:

Combo:
4 raise the alarm
2 errand of duty
4 polymorph
2 darksteel col.

counter:
4 force of wills
4 manaleak              (maybe i could put in manadrain)
4 counterspell

engine:
4 impulse
1 anc recall
1 timewalk
1 timetwister
3 mystical tutor
1 thinker

Mana:
1 black lotus
7 moxes (including diamond and chrome)
6 island
3 plains
4 tundra
4 flooded strand

You need a secondary way to win.  Try adding Oath to the build.

isn't mystical tutor restricted?  I also like the oath idea but adding green may screw up your mana base.

Proteus Staff seems like a natural.
Yes, Mana Drains could provide some much needed acceleration.

Yeah the Oath of Druids would be the better choice than Proteus Staff.  Green would add more Artifact hate.

Thx for the tips i changed my deck now to:
(i added black because mystical tutor is restricted, anycraze made a fault, so i tutors r in the house, also used the proteus staffs)

Combo:
4 raise the alarm
2 errand of duty
4 polymorph
2 darksteel col.
2 proteus staff

counter:
4 force of wills
4 manaleak (maybe i could put in manadrain)
4 counterspell

engine:
3 impulse
1 anc recall
1 timewalk
1 timetwister
1 mystical tutor
1 thinker
1 demonic tutor
1 vampiric tutor

Mana:
1 black lotus
5 moxes
1 solring
3 island
2 plains
4 tundra
4 flooded strand
4 underground sea

should this work, or do you think with some changes extended is a better format for this deck

thx for tips you gave me, new tips r welcome

I know this is a T1 forum, but to run Colossus with Raise the Alarm with a Proteus Staff, we're talking T2. With Tinker's twin, Fabricate, T2 would run well on this idea, but weak in vintage.

A Charbelcher makes a nice alt. win condition if there's a Bridge out (or Maze or Ith, etc.).  You can stack the deck after using the Proteus Staff and then Belch for the win.  Hey, it works in T2...  Wink

ps - some man-lands (Mishra's Factoies) might improve your chances of getting a creature on the board.

While this is true, it's not like the deck is loaded with possible mana sinks should he drain a large spell.

Manlands are great for polymorphing.  You could try Mishra's Factory, Blinkmoth Nexus, and even Faerie Conclave.
