[Deck Tech] why not run anger in oshawa stompy?

Is there something I am missing as to why not splash taigas and anger for this deck? I love the deck but it seems just a little frustrating not to have haste on my arrogant wurm...

Any open discussion on this, or on the deck in general, would be appreciated. (Sorry if someone already asked this somewhere, I just couldnt find it.)

Oshawa Stompy is not Madness. It's an aggro deck that features powerful draw engines which can be used to overwhelm control, and its creatures are bigger and stronger than creatures found in most other aggro decks. You do not need to be so aggressive with O.Stompy to win, so splashing for Anger is unnecessary. In fact, you do not want to weaken your mana base, because O.Stompy runs relatively few stable green mana sources.

You do weaken it (kind of) in the sense that you open yourself up to Wasteland, not to mention that after you opponent wastes your available Taigas (the only thing they can target), Anger is dead. Also, game 2 most decks side in GY hate because you pate a Squee / StoF engine.

It already has bazaars to die to wastes, you want to screw yourself over even more? This deck doesn't need speed, its a control deck, just a different form of one. Also, I recommend the version that makes main hate in exchange for the Survivals, just through my own experience, i like to actually be a mono g aggro control, not a new madness variant.

Posting the same thing twice is tech.

In regaurds to the whole thread I once though of that but now realize that it is not worth splashing for red just for anger.
As Dicemen said it really isn't nessescary to the playstyle of the deck.

Is there somewhere I can find a detailed primer or solid decklist for this deck? I have looked at quite a few deck lists and they are all different, none of them looking apparently stronger than another.

It's a metagame deck--you really have to build a version that's ready to deal with what you expect to face. Razor's built is heavily anti-landstill, while mine was more for the expected waterbury meta.

well my metagame is about alot of tog, sui and a little dragon with occasional stax. I got the main deck figured out pretty well but I seem to be having problems with the sideboard.

I couldn't have said it better.

The deck was designed circa the Winter Solstice 2003, so it is still fresh, really.  As for a Primer, I posted every scrap of testing and development data on the temporary TMD here:

One thing that has disappointed me as the deck's sole creator is that no one but Kerz has posted any Tourney Reports to give anything back to me or to further the archetype.  I hear that lots of people are playing it but next to none are posting their results.  So please start posting your lists and results.

Also, please keep the original name: Oshawa Stompy.

One of my latest versions runs: 12 Forest, 1 LED and 2  Roars and I haven't run Vineyards since the first tourney.  The one that won at Carta Magica was nearly optimal.  Petrified Fields are meta-choice cards.

This sounds a little snnobish to me. Its cool that you made the deck and all and I salute you for it cause I plan to play it (though it was the pimp Adam Bowers who got me interested)  but I dont think you really need to force people to have the name you gave it. Besides magic players love sex jokes and who dosent think the Big O is a better name.

Anyway I will be playing this deck and may just post some results if I can do okay and if anybody cares.

I was also thinking about running some roars but was wondering if LED was really all that great. I gusee it could be with roars but without i find it to be a bad choice afterall as everybody keeps saying this isn't maddness and LED isn't nealy as solid here.
