In the course of my Enchantress playtesting, I discovered that I only own three Seal of Cleansing. Later on I noticed I somehow only had one Roar of the Wurm, three Arrogant Wurm, one Compost, and a resounding zero Cabal Therapy. This made me wonder if I'm the only one missing utterly common cards.

Anyone else got a confession?

I have 0 Therapy, 1 Wonder, 0 Standstill (I had four but traded them, and haven't got any since), 0 MoR, 1 Leonin Skyhunter, 0 Compost, 1 Dissipate (see Standstill), 2 Silver Knight, 1 Hydroblast (?), 1 Scepter, 1 Psychatog. These are all cards I would like to have four of.

My problem stems from my earlier Magic days when a bunch of my college buddies and I all had our own "colors."  I'd trade red and green cards way undervalue for blue and black cards (and artifacts, since anyone who plays DnD knows artifacts are super rare and cool!), so now I have big gaps in my collection from Revised-Dark.  I actually had to scrounge Grizzly Bears for my first R/G deck years ago.   Rolling Eyes

I don't have any StP's Sad except for one that I drew a jesus alteration on it, so it never leaves me.

I was also very happy to finally get 4 bolts (wb) again. I'll never trade them away ever.

I don't own much past Torment. That was the last set I actively bought packs for. With every other set, I just go out and get the singles I need.

I sold/traded all my duals the first time I quit. Same with FoWs, painlands, and Llanowar Elves. Also, I only have 3 Duress.

:: Head hung in shame ::  I own no REBs, BEBs, and most other pre-Urza's block commons, as I sold them to a dealer for huge wad of cash.  Now I wish I would have been more selective.  DAMN IT!

I have a tragic story that relates to this...

I often play dryad based decks, and one week I put together super-gro for the Hadley FNM.  As I go through my binder, I realize I only have disenchants and no seal of cleansing.  Then, in the last round of swiss, I'm in a creature war with Bg Suicide.  I need to pump my dryad once more to swing for the win, but draw nothing but land and a disenchant while he kills me with hypno-specter.  It was excruciating.

As far as commons I lack, I was missing anything standard from Exodus to Apocalypse.  While I've filled in some of the blanks, but its still a serious pain in the ass when I want to run, say root maze.

I always had that problem. The lower powered a deck was, the less likely I was to have all the cards for it. Keeper was easy, but I'd have to scrape and scrounge and borrow to build a Sligh deck. I remember one PTQ season where I spent about 2 weeks trying to dig up a fourth Land Grant, because no one ever brings commons to trade.

I once had to frantically try to trade/buy a stinking disenchant before a tourney.  I realized that I didnt have any because I never bought any core-set packs.

What was worse is that I own a set of beta power yet lacked a disenchat.

What was even worse was that I had to pay $1 for a seventh edition one cause thats all there was.

But I now own a few promo and beta ones, just to be safe.

The only commons I have now are the ones I play regularly in Type 1,  some random stuff I like, and the contents of around 2 or 3 drafts.  I sold the rest to a dealer to get 18 draft sets Smile
