This past Friday night I picked up my fourth Shahrazad. I wanted to abuse what could be the most annoying card in Magic with Darksteel’s Panoptic Mirror. I put together the following deck for multiplayer games.
1,001 Arabian Tales, Version 2.0 4 Bayou 4 Savannah 4 Scrubland 4 Windswept Heath 2 Plains 1 Forest 1 Black Lotus 1 Mox Jet 1 Mox Emerald 1 Mox Pearl 1 Sol Ring 4 Shahrazad 4 Panoptic Mirror 4 Wrath of God 4 Diabolic Tutor 2 Gaea’s Blessing 2 Naturalize 1 Demonic Tutor 1 Burning Wish 1 Balance 1 Living Wish 1 Time Walk 1 Cunning Wish 4 Leonine Abunas 4 Wall of Roots 2 Serra Avatar
I would also carry with me a set of wish targets to answer specific board threats. This was my first thought on how to abuse Shahrazad and Panoptic Mirror. I am looking for other thoughts and ideas on which to take this deck. All ideas are welcome.

Bear in mind you will most likely get shot for this. Every subgame in which you imprint sharazad on the mirror essentially locks half of all decks out. That being said, if your going for maximum annoyance, all I can think of is [card]whetstone[/card] to help you win before you get actually killed outside the game.

This deck will not fly in multiplayer. People will just refuse to play you if you are using that deck. On the other hand, if you were able to somehow make that deck fast enough to run in T1 tournaments, you would tie every game, and maybe even mise into T8! (Probably not)
Here are some suggestions for a more competative build:
root maze force of wills trinisphere mishra's workshop etc.
Casual players play for fun, not to play some infinite sub-games monstrosity.

In melee, that will get you some serious beats. (Probably not) I don't think 0-0-x will make it into top 8, seing that x-1-1 sometimes doesn't make it. But it'll still be a pain in the ass. Meddling Mage > Shahrazad

What's up with people saying 0-0-X could ever make t8? I'm not just talking specifically about this thread.. well.. not _just_ about this thread.. but in a 6 round tourney, 0-0-X is 6 points. 2-4-0 is the same amount of points. Do you expect 2-4 to t8?

What's worse is people who don't realize you can just concede subgames. Beating stall tactics 4L.

Actually I put together a new version of my old shahrazad deck a couple weeks ago. As it turns out, cards removed from the game in the subgames don't return in the origional game. I use workshops to abuse jesters cap, millstones, and tormonds crypts. Every card you remove from any game-subgame is not a threat in further subgames. It is very fun. Obviously this wouldnt' win in a tounament, but if you want to win in the tournaments go head and copy slavery like everyone else without an origional idea in their head...Have a lot of fun.

Another cool way to abuse Shahrazad is Spellweaver helix along with the Invasion sorceries that can be played as instants(like Ghitu Fire, Rout, etc).
I too would suggest not to play that in a group game though. Not only is it annoying but you will be there all night just finishing one game.

He has this twisted sense of evil and I think he is trying to exploit that. Winning multiplayer games by making everyone else quit out of sheer boredom would be the accolade of ownage. I like all the wishes in there, so nice with Mirror. What is your sideboard looking like? Please tell me you have a Swords to Plowshares somewhere in the MD or SB.

4x Shahrazad 4x millstone 4x jesters cap 4x wrath of god 4x leonin abunas 3x karn 4x goblin welder 2x disenchant 2x mesmeric orb 1x tormonds crypt 3x guilded lotus 1x feldon's cane 1x mindslaver 1x memory jar 1x wheel of fortune 1x balance 1x grim monolith 1x mana vault 1x sol ring 1x mox jet, ruby, emerald, pearl, sapphire 1x black lotus 1x tolarian acadame 4x mishra's workshop 4x plateau 4x glimervoid
This is my most recent version of this foolishness. It's something most people won't sit down against too many times but it's fun every now and then just to mess with people.

Trust me, no1 in your playgroup will play against this deck. I came to my college, meet a new playgroup, played a first turn Shahrazad and they proceeded to Annex me from the table. But, for the heck of it run Buring Wish Death Wish Ring of Ma'ruf just to make the game "intresting"

If you're going for maximum annoyance in multiplayer, you have not even begun to hit the top of the iceberg... First of all, any well thought out Sharazad deck will also include Jester's Caps with methods to recur them (which are plentiful in white) and the truely annoying Divine Intervention (at least I think that's the name of the card which causes the game to become a draw). There are several other cards to use, but those are must includes for maximum "pain in the ass" mode.

Wow, I was not expecting this much of a reaction. Well, now that I am back from vacation I can respond to some of this. First a little explanation, something that I should probably done as to why I am building this deck. One of the places that we play in Minneapolis offers multiplayer nights every two months or so. Most people choose to play decks that are "kitchen table" friendly, however, there are a small number of people who show up packing combo decks that are not fun for most people. (example: Biorhythem decks, False Cure, Worldgorger Dragon) I suppose this happens when product is at stake. The store manger asked me to come up with a deck that would help "police" this problem. This is where I suggested having a Shahrazad deck available.
I don't mean to play this at any old kitchen table or with random people I don't know. This is for certain people who have proven time and again to take away the enjoyment of others.
For those who have offered suggestions, I thank you.

If that is indeed the case, I would suggest the following framework. This is your basic combo-player's nightmare deck.
Sharazad, Divine Intervention, Jester's Cap, Memory Jar & other draw 7's, Tinker, Stasis, some artifact recursion (Welder would be optimum cruelty).
The basic idea is that you deconstruct the opponent's entire deck through Cap recursion over several subgames, until they have nothing left but lands. Then you end all subgames as ties through Intervention, and break the Stasis lock and let the non-combo players enjoy the actual game. It may take some time, but it teaches a serious lesson.
Make no mistake, you may well get punched in the face for playing this deck.

I suggest playing Tormod's Crypt. I have a friend who has this deck and he uses Tormod's Crypt to slowly eat his opponents deck in every subgame. Essentially he made his Sharazad into some type of milling deck.

Ummm, he's the manager, he runs the store. Why doesn't he just tell them to change to a more friendly deck or they simply will not be allowed to play?

Haunting Echoes anyone???
Seriously, I've seen Shahrazad.dec win some games with it. Plus it gives you acces to DT, Yawg Will, and Duress.
