Effective April 1st the DCI allows International Edition (IE) and Collector's Edition (CE) cards to be used in tournament play.

This change was made due to the growing number of Vintage (Type I) players and tournaments opposed to the increasing number of the so called "Power Cards".

Traders expect this change not to effect the prizes for cards from the Alpha, Beta and Unlimited sets on the secondary market

Unless they have been known to make April fools day jokes, this is going to be an interesting change, considering the CE cards are way easier to find at the current time.

Could someone please investigate further to determine if this is indeed no joke?

Yeah, April 1st makes the most sense.

I think the unfortunate thing here is that some people are going to start spending a lot of money on eBay (for CE cards), with no recourse to get their money back.  CE cards are already expensive, and this kind of stupid joke is going to spike the price (temporarily) while simultaneously taking money away from players who legitimatley want to play Type One.

If you immediately stocked up on CE power now because of this, I'd say you aren't that bright. Isn't it a little obvious that when morphling.de is the ONLY site where it says that, and considering the date, that it might NOT be true?
